On that account, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy with the National Police launched the Hotel Security Management System (SMP) in St. Regis Bali Resort Nusa Dua, Monday (Apr 29).
The launch was marked with the beating of gongs by Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ukus Kuswara, accompanied by the Head of the Security Maintenance Agency of the National Police Oegroseno, Bali Police Chief Arif Wachyunadi, and Vice Chairman of the Central Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati. The launch of the Hotel SMP marked the commencement of the audit for Hotel SMP in Indonesia.
Ukus Kuswara said the quality of security was a strategic step for successful tourism sector. Besides, it was also important to achieve the very large potential of the world tourist market. “To create such security, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has issued the Regulation No. PM. 106/PW.006/MPEK/2011 on the Hotel SMP,” he explained.
Tjok Ace said the development of tourism occurred due a good climate. It was the elaboration of the concept of the tourism awareness and seven charms where one of the aspects was the sense of security. “Any small security disturbance inside and outside will have an impact on the tourism,” said Oegroseno after following the Hotel SMP audit. In the future, the security and comfort should be created persistently. “When there have been CCTVs, security guards and other security organizations, do not let any loss happen in the rooms,” he reminded.
The launch of Hotel SMP pilot project was undertaken simultaneously at the St. Regis Bali Resort, Sheraton Kuta Bali as well as The Dharmawangsa and Oakwood Premier Cozmo Hotel, Jakarta. (BTN/015)
