CONCERN about the rate of mangrove forest conversion in Bali, Rama Tours in collaboration with the Central Management of Mangrove Forest for Region I planted mangrove seedlings in the empty areas of the mangrove forest at Suwung Kangin. With such an activity, the government and society were expected to manage and develop the mangrove forests because they had a very important ecological function and economic potential.
The reforestation activity against the bare areas of the mangrove forests was carried out as charity program of Rama Tours in commemorating its 35th anniversary falling on June 17, 2013, with the theme ‘Through Compassion, Devotion and Creativity, We Journey to a Brighter Future.’
Aside from planting mangroves, Rama Tours also conducted regular blood donation, mutual assistance of cleaning up litter, especially plastic waste in the area of Uluwatu Temple, donation of dust bin and fund directly to temple priests. In appropriate with the theme of the anniversary, no matter how small the contribution was Rama Tours constantly hoped that Bali tourism resources could be best utilized for the common welfare and it lasted sustainably in the future.
