Serokadan customary village, Apuan, Susut, is not only famous for its natural and pristine potential. The area adjacent to Apuan village also has a cultural heritage in the form of Candri Manik Temple and a number of the other arts remaining to survive am
As the region being famous for the arts and culture, Gianyar County is designing a blue print or a grand design that becomes the guidelines on the art and culture of the past, present and future pillars. Chairman of the Drafting Team, I Wayan Geriya, said the measure was very positive in order to preserve the art and culture. The blueprint will be expressed into a 125-page book in Bahasa Indonesia, English and Bilingual. “As targeted, it is expected to be completed by mid-December,” said Wayan Geriya in the event of deepening the team’s proposal in the Conference Room I, the office of the Gianyar Regent, Thursday (Aug 29).
Later on, continued Geriya, the result could become a comprehensive guide to promote the superiority of the art and culture having local, national and international synergy. Similarly, it was also intended for the welfare of the people, the glory of culture and progress of the century.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of the Drafting Team, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Dibia, stated that so far Gianyar had not had a definitive map of the potential of the art. Many art potentials had not been documented such as the Drama Gong, Barong Kunti Sraya and the design of Celuk silver crafts claimed by someone else.
Similar opinion was also revealed by a member of the team, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Sedana. He hoped the grand design made would not deviate from the grand art design made by the UNESCO. “The presence of blue print is expected to become a pillar for the arts and culture in the Gianyar County,” he said. Meanwhile, First Assistant to Gianyar Regional Secretariat, Cokorda Rai Widiarsa P, said that as a barometer of the art and culture in Bali, Gianyar could just have realized the blue print of the art and fashion. It was the spirit of the Regent A.A. Gde Agung Bharata to preserve and promote the arts and culture in Gianyar. (BTN/015)
