A performance of the art and cultural creativity entitled the Mahabandana Prasadha got the appreciation from thousands of people of Denpasar. The performing art to commemorate the 107th year of Puputan Badung was preceded with script parade procession from the Taen Siat area and then resumed with a clockwise spinning at central crossroad of Denpasar or Catur Muka Statue.
Thousands of traditional artists from different circles were involved in the cultural creativity with religious nuances. Various sets of ancient gamelan instruments were played by young artists putting on simple costumes. They were the members of the Maha Bajra Sandhi Art Studio and played it seriously and seamlessly.
With the theme Gni Maha Bajra reflected in a variety of the arts and culture in Bali featured several arts. Various Barong dances, Legong and Baris dances were performed. Even, for the first time the Baris Denpur (Denpasar Puri) Dance meaning the ‘Denpasar is My Home’ was also performed with other Baris dances.
“All the art presentations pose the efforts to generate the pure soul of the nation in the second decade of the 21st century armed with the spirit of 107th year of Puputan Badung,” said Komang Astita, Chairman of the Committee doubling as Chairman of the Listibya Denpasar.
The Mahabandana Prasadha 2013 was opened by Denpasar Mayor IB Rai D. Mantra, Commander of the IX Udayana Military Regional Command Wisnu Bawa Tenaya and a legislator of the Denpasar House Gung Bima Wikrama accompanied by Komang Astita marked with the blowing of a conch, Friday (Sep 20). (BTN/015)
