Biznet Bali International Triathlon (BBIT) will be held on June 23, 2013. Aside from becoming the sport and arts activities, this international event will also become a medium for promoting tourism of Bali and Indonesia. It was stated by the Regent of Badung AA Gde Agung, while receiving John M. Daniels, President Director of Bali Discovery Tours and the committee on Friday (Apr 19).
Regent Gde Agung said that all circles of the world knew that BBIT was a spectacular event. It was a promotional activity that could touch directly the European market segment. “The BBIT offering the nuance of the art and culture will become a positive impact on tourism in the Badung County in particular,” he said.
Hence, this number one man in Badung hoped that the committee could properly prepare the implementation. He also suggested to involve the team of Begin with a Smile (ADS) of Bali Police as well as to build an opinion that Bali local police were very welcome and friendly to tourists.
As a tourist destination, he said, promotion was a part of investment that could surely be enjoyed later. On that account, Badung could introduce the potential destination in the world’s tourism arena. “Promotion with this approach and touch will have psychological impact and relationship intimacy can be established from the countries supplying the tourists,” he said.
Meanwhile, John M. Daniels reported, the BBIT would be held on Sunday (Jun 23) as the seventh implementation. The competition would be followed by more than 903 athletes from 32 countries including Indonesia, where they would comprise 277 male athletes and 626 female athletes. The three sports involved in the event would be swimming, bike and run. Overall, the BBIT would take start and finish at the Bali Intercontinental Resort Jimbaran. (BTN/015)
