Vivacity to make the Tanah Lot a leading tourist attraction in Bali continues to be performed. Other than managing the area and improving the quality of human resources, the management also cares about the environment and culture. “We have always created comfort for tourists visiting Tanah Lot,” said Operations Manager of the Tanah Lot Management, I Ketut Toya Adnyana, amidst the devotional works carried out at Melanting temple area.
Ahead of the temple ceremony, hundreds of people consisting of the staff and operational management, development committee of the Melanting Temple and local traders paid devotional works at the temple area. The activities comprised the grass cleanup, preparation of shelter and installation of temple clothing.
“This ceremony is associated with the inauguration of a shrine at the Melanting Temple of Tanah Lot to be held on Wednesday, Buda Wage Merakih (May 15). This Melanting Temple has just been restored, and performed physical improvement,” said Toya Adnyana.
The activity was started at 07:00 p.m. and begun with saying prayers together to implore safety and smooth running of the activity. Then, each participant took their task that should be completed. All the participants did their works in mutual assistance vivaciously.
Prior notice ritual, invocation of holy water, reservation of high priest and mancal upakara banten were conducted on May 12, 2013. Meanwhile, purification of the deities was held on Tuesday (May 14) and peak of the event was on Wednesday (May 15) preceded with inauguration ritual, animal sacrifice and temple anniversary (piodalan).
