Ngayah or devotional work poses one of the ways undertaken by the management of Tanah Lot tourist attraction to maintain the area. Aside from making continuous arrangement, ranging from the parks, sidewalks, wantilan hall, traders as well as the parking area, the spiritual activity in the form of doing devotional work in temples also becomes a way to create a better neighborhood.
On Tuesday (Oct 1), the entire Operations Management staff of the Tanah Lot tourist attraction did devotional works in the local Padma shrine. A variety of cultural activities were implemented such as making temporary platform, installing shrine paraphernalia, making penjor and clean-up in the temple area.
Operations Manager of the Tanah Lot tourist attraction, I Ketut Toya Adnyana, said the spiritual activities were associated with the ceremony performed in the local Padmasana shrine. It was begun by saying prayers to invoke safety and smooth implementation of all the activities. “This devotional work poses the way to preserve the tradition and culture of the region,” he said.
Meanwhile, regarding the tourist arrival, Toya said that it was always crowded. In the holiday season, the visit was dominated by domestic tourists from big cities in Java and even from outside Java. Daily tourist arrival at the tourist attraction reached 7,000 to 8,000 people. (BTN/015)
