Between
Concept, Implementation and Communication
One
of the main strategies to improve the quality
of human resources in an operation or company
is through creating a balanced skill in
formulating a concept, implementing the
concept and communicating it to others.
For a manager for example, he should have good
knowledge (concept), capable of communicating
it to others and take action to implement
the concept to others. In Balinese life
this might be in line with the Tri Kaya
Parisuda concept (Manacika, Wacika and Kayika,
i.e. to think, to speak and to do things
well).
The one who does not have a good knowledge
(concept) is definitely inferior in competition
compared to those who have a good one. It
is not surprising that the person who is
just past junior high school will be less
competitive to someone who has got a diploma,
but if the one who has got the diploma (concept)
has had a good experience (implementation
of the concept), he might be preferred to
be chosen by an operation than those who
have got the diploma but they have not had
enough work experience (implementation of
the concept).
Many people having a brilliant brain (concept)
and very experienced in jobs can not get
a good salary, maybe because they are inferior
in competition to others because they have
not been able to communicate their skill
and work experience to others. Communication
can be made through speaking, writing, or
putting your name on a website, so other
people know you, and are able to communicate
with you. For example, right now, employees
who are familiar to use e-mail will be more
competitive than those who are not able
to use it. The tourist guides who are able
to speak more languages will be more competitive
than others. This shows the benefit of and
the advantage of people who have a skill
in communicating themselves,
with what they have, to others.
In brief, from the illustration given above,
a competitive employee, or a competitive
manager, should be able to improve their
capability on three levels, i.e., either
in formulating a concept, implementing the
concept, and communicating it to others.
