Bartending
Contest
JIMBARAN
- Intercontinental Resort Balis
staff members joined a bartending
competition held at the Padi
Prada Lounge on Friday, 9 May
2003. Its participants are from the
Food and Beverage staff of the Resort.
Judgement of the participants
skills included tasting and recipes,
presentation and garnishes, preparation
time, attraction and showmanship,
attractiveness of cocktail, and creation
originality, The panel of judges comprised
in-house guests, representatives of
Bali Moon Liquor, the General Manager
and some of the management team.
Director of Food & Beverages and
Executive Chef of the resort, Shane
Giles, proudly disclosed the importance
of this event for the resorts
staff to show off their talents and
creativity. After a 3-hour long contest,
Kardana (bartender) won first place
with his drink with the name Lampion,
Budi Artika of Water Jimbaran
came second with his Green
Field drink, and Sukariasih
of Long Waters, placed third
with her drink, Blue Iba-Iba.

Balis Travel Agents Congress
SANUR
Balis Association of
Indonesian Travel Agents (ASITA) has
chosen a theme of leaping ahead
with popular orientation for
their tenth regional congress (musda),
held in Paradise Plaza Hotel, Sanur
on Wednesday, 7 May. Deputy Governor
of Bali Alit Putra, Deputy Mayor of
Denpasar Robin, consultants, and airline
men were present amid ASITA members,
who apply their right to elect Agung
Prana as chairman of the organization.

Post-SARS
Recovery Strategy
PATA
and an international public relations
firm are working on a post-SARS tourism
recovery campaign to be announced
later this month. If supported by
PATA NTO members, the collective and
far-reaching campaign will provide
the worlds media with consistent
and positive messages about travel
to, from and within Pacific Asia.
The campaign aims to fully complement
the marketing and recovery programme
of both public- and private-sector
travel and tourism organizations throughout
Pacific Asia.

the THK Team gathered to pray in Besakih
Temple, Karangasem. The prayer is
a routine schedule before the team
member giving a mark to give the hotels
that follow an annual competition
