the Network, ISI Bali Launched a Website
After
much consolidation and training, Ikatan
Sekretaris Indonesia (Indonesian Secretary
Association) Bali Branch finally succeeded
in carrying out a Secretary Competency Test.
This test was connected to the event Secretary
Sparkling May 2003 at the Hard Rock Hotel,
Saturday 31 May.
Secretary Sparkling May 2003 had 3 activities
that included the Competency Test, followed
by 100 participants from government and
private institutions watched over by the
Manpower Department of Bali Province. This
was followed by the launching of ISI Bali
Website and issuing certificates of National
Competency.
Nia Septinawati, the Chairwoman of ISI of
Bali Branch said Secretary Sparkling May
2003 is not a competitive event but a media
for the secretaries to improve their perception
and skills in doing their duty professionally.
And much more important is the national
recognition from the government and industry
for a secretarys position and character
because they already have a certificate,
said Nia, who is also the Secretary of Bali
Hai Hotel Resort & Spa.
Nia said she hoped that the participants
stay optimistic about this profession because
ISI is still the referential both by the
government and industry institutions. She
also asked for the mass medias participation
to change the paradigm about the secretary
who possesses more skills and professionalism.
The event received a positive response from
the participants. When asked for her opinion
of this event, Ayu Manik said this activity
should encourage businesses to recruit secretaries
who have a lot of experience and own a certificate.
There are many experienced secretaries
but they dont have national recognition.
So this event is very useful for us,
said Ayu, Secretary of Keraton Hotel Jimbaran.
This event, which was also presented by
the Chairwoman of ISI of Jakarta Branch,
ended with the issue of National Competency
Certificate, the launching of a membership
Card ISI Bali, and the launching of Website
ISI Bali. Through this Website, secretaries
can open themselves more and expand the
network, so it will easily in transferring
and exchanging information between them.
I think this technology will act importantly
in world business. For that reason, the
secretary should master that technology,
said Nia. (BTN 013)
