Tourist Police and Security Precaution of Tourism Area

As the main entrance of Indonesian tourism, Bali will enhance the security standard for the tourist. “In necessity, this area should own the International security standard,” said Bali Provincial Police Chief Inspector General Mangku Pastika to the mass media recently. For that aim, the Provincial Police Office of Bali (Polda Bali) organize a new task order that is Tourism Pacifier Directorate with their personnel of tourist police and beach police.
While, the Tourist Security Director, Bali Provincial Police, Senior Police Adjutant Commissioner, Drs. I Ketut Kadhiana, MBA to Bali Travel News said, his side will serve for a maximum service to each tourist who visit for the tourism objects in Bali. “ With 224 personnel, we are ready to pacify the 184 of tourism objects in Bali,” he said while inserted that these personnel are less eventually, however each of arose problems will be attach to the entire police sector and police resort in Bali.
Since it legalize in the year 2000, the tourist police all set to work 24 hours, especially at the crowded area that visited by plenty of tourists. “We also built a police station in tourist resort and served to service the guest during their vacation,” said Ketut Kadhiana who ever has a duty in Northern Sulawesi.
It describe, his ally are cooperates with Tourism Office and hotel owner/organizer to serve solid service intensity that appropriate with international standard. He also thanked to ‘Casagrande’ (the Association of GM Expat in Bali) in providing a free English course to the tourist police officer. “This is a positive collaboration, because they supply a native speaker instructor to us. I hope that none of miscommunication can happen just only because the officer does not understand foreign language,” he explained clearly.

Beach Police
Reminds that Bali Island surrounded by beaches, which also as the tourism attraction, it necessary in deed to form a beach police. Since the Beach Police unit had been legalized by Head of Bali Provincial Police on 11 June 2003 at Kuta Beach, so it becomes the only beach police patrol in Indonesia. “This manner showed that Bali is really concern about the security and safety of the tourist,” said Ketut Kadhiana.
The duty and responsibility of beach police is quite similar with other police officer. However, the beach police are more focus with the tourist security and safety conservation on the beach. “If there are any tourist who having a problem or get an accident while swimming, the beach police will supply for first aid. Surely, we cooperated with ‘balawista’ (the life guard) and water police for the aid facilities,” he said while attach that the other duty of beach police is to give a widespread information as possible about the tourism object and also the beach zones, which one is suitable and unsuitable for swimming.
The other job is to minimize the criminal action that often happens to the tourist. Lately, the beach police personnel are still limited, about 20 personnel in each beach of Kuta and 20 other personnel at Sanur Beach.
