58th Independence Anniversary
Commemorated by Bangli’s People

The enthusiasm of Bangli’s public for Independence Day celebration Anniversary is visibly emerging in each of year. For this 58th Independence Anniversary, which directly organizes by District Secretary of Bangli Regency, Drs. I Wayan Suarka, will execute such of events. Due to Suarka, such activities are Balinese Pop song contest, Law Extension that aimed at improving the consciousness of Bangli’s people of their duty and rights as Indonesian citizen. “The one that important also is of environment hygiene contest. This contest is aimed to produce Bangli as vigor town and civilize the environment aware,” he explains to the press recently. Other celebrating activities are in the form of sports competition, arts performance, and remission extending to prisoner who good behaves during arresting period. The main event of Proclamation moment will concentrate at Mudita Park, 17 August 2003, 10.50 am. On that main event, DPRD chief of Bangli will read the Proclamation text and the Regent will act as the Ceremony Inspector. The involving sides on that ceremony are TNI (National Indonesian Arm Force), POLRI (Indonesian Police), Hansip (Civilian Defense Unit), PNS (Civil Servants), Ormas (Public Organization), Veteran, and also the students starts from Elementary level until High School level. As the main attention on that ceremony is The Red and The White Flag Displayed. The official that displayed the flag are from Senior High School students who already have been practicing for a month. After the Proclamation commemoration moment, it continued by devotional visit to Tugu Pahlawan Penglipuran (Patriot Monument) all at once of wreath-laying ceremony and flower strewing to the grave yard, in order to remain the Patriots Spirit of Bangli who died on the battle field.
