Parade of Independence in Buleleng

Merry celebrations can be witnessed at Buleleng’s people on the celebration of Indonesian Independence Day Anniversary, 17 August 2003. The most wanted entertainment is the parade of Independence Day that followed by government institution and private agencies that located at Northern Bali. The parade contestant will show off their best performance in front of the judges. They have designing the arts show, cultural product exhibition, and economic product from entire village of Buleleng, then paraded around the town.

According to Public Relation of Buleleng Administration, this year Parade will stress on the cultural and tourism asset. It means the parade participant forced to present the traditional arts of Buleleng including the traditional costume of each village of northern Bali.
The parade contestants are also presenting the dance-fragment adopting the folktale or puppetry story. The event aimed at entertaining the citizen and as the attraction to absorb for foreign tourist attention that spends their holiday in Buleleng. In occasion, the parade schedule had been spread to the hotels and travel biro in Buleleng.
Last year (17 August 2002), the parade was merrily executed. Thousands audience fill the border street around the Singaraja city to watch the parade. Beside the parade, it will also execute several sports competitions, arts performances, and Development Exhibition. Nevertheless, the Parade of Independence is the most prestigious event. (BTN/bll)
