Annual Nusa Dua Festival 2003
As
Indonesia’s best-known tourist destination
and of Bali especially, Nusa Dua has become
an important cultural crossroad. To promote
the image of Indonesia specially Nusa Dua
to world wide, the Bali Tourism Development
Corporation (BTDC) and tourism industries
in Bali held a cultural celebration namely
Nusa Dua Festival. This event is the main
annual event of art and cultural in Bali.
 Several
arts and cultural performance will proceed
orderly, in addition to absorbing the tourist’s
attraction ordinarily, and especially raising
the interest of Balinese community to appreciate
for their own arts and culture. This spectacular
occasion is the sort of celebration to promote
in the main image of Indonesia’s tourism
and Bali especially. For that manner, it
is totally aimed wholly for promotion, which
is to promote the newest creation of local
artist and motivate them to make more innovative
arts creation; Introduction, which is as
the opportunities of the small-scale industries
in Indonesia to introduce and sell their
handicrafts and souvenirs. Incentive Insurance;

visit. For this Seventh Annual Nusa Dua
Festival 2003 will present the theme “GIRI
LELANGUAN”. The theme adapted from
the great epic of MAHABARATA, which was
chosen to give a deeper meaning about world
conservation especially about the function
of mountains for human life as well as other
creatures. The story performance will be
of “PEMUTERAN MANDARA GIRI”, and
staged in form of art attraction, dance,
a colossal gamelan orchestra “karawitan”
and dramas.As a colossal art performance,
Nusa Dua Festival 2003 will perform many
events. The festival will be officially
opened by the Marching Band of Udayana University,
followed by “Great Parade” (Peed
Agung), which perform by more 2000 local
artist dressed beautiful and colorful Balinese
dresses, performing various attractive dances.
The processions also feature the mascot
of Nusa Dua Festival “Kebo Iwa”
the legendary character in Nusa Dua and
Bali as well. The traditional flag such
as “tedung agung”, “kober”,
from each hotels and participants also takes
part in this festival. The next performance
is of Balinese dances “Sendratari”
a new form of traditional drama that present
the story Pemuteran Mandara Giri. The arts
performances for each ethnical group around
archipelago will present for a week in role.
The Nusa Dua Festival 2003 will host a numbers
of artistic workshop and exhibition to show
the latest creation on handicrafts and souvenirs
made by artist from numbers of ethnic group
in Indonesia. Such of traditional sports
from around Indonesia’s archipelago
will also involve in this colossal event.
The important event is the International
seminar on agriculture with the theme “POSTHARVEST
TECHNOLOGY” that will be attended by
participant from Asia Pacific and several
countries from Europe and USA. Make sure
that your vacation in Bali is filled with
a week-enjoyment of the sensational Nusa
Dua Festival 2003 that will execute on 22

Exhibition
of Bali Development
Bali
Development Affair was executed by commemorating
58th of Indonesian Independence Anniversary
and 45th Anniversary of Provincial Government
of Bali. The exhibition affair will take
place on 14 – 23 August 2003 at Kapten
Japa Park, Padanggalak, East Denpasar. Therefore,
the exhibition preparation such as making
for exhibition stand, committee secretariat
stand, and entertainment stage already made
since 1 July 2003. “The success of
Development in Bali will store there within
the material form like photos, pictures,
graphics, and miniatures,” said I Gusti
Ngurah Sujana, Chief of Media Communication
to Bali Travel News.It said, along with
the exhibition, several Government institutions
would serve the visitors directly on the
location. Such as the Samsat (vehicles document
service) Officer Denpasar promising of availability
to serve the visitor who runs out for their
vehicles document. The Police Officer also
serves the visitor who wants to extend their
Driving License, including the medical officer
that offered the medical check-up, such
as blood testing and blood pressure evaluation
to the visitor.The exhibition is opened
from 08.00 – 14.00 then in the afrternoon
begins from 16.00 – 22.00. The committee
distributes a questioner for the visitor,
and if the visitor able to answer it correctly,
they will receive an interesting prize.
“It expected to watch the exhibition
more carefully, so they can answer the questioner
correctly,” he said again. That 2-hectare
exhibition area will be divided into 2 areas,
which is 1 hectare of the south side is
available for private participants numbered
of 150 stands consisting the commercial
merchants, and another 1 hectare of the
north side is available for government institution
stand that numbered of 80 stands. “Those
80 stands divided into 3 groups according
to development sector,” he explained.

Negeri Bali, District Library Office, District
Office BPN, PU Official, Communication Office,
Health Center Official, HIV – Aids/KPAD,
Kesbang Linmas/Drugs Agency and BKKBN.The
C – Code of western group numbers of
24 stands is filled with Income Department,
Agriculture Department, Husbandry Department,
Fisheries and Marine Department, Forest
service and Western Bali Park, Natural Resources
Conservation, Bedugul Botanical Garden,
Industrial and Commerce Department, Cooperation
Department, Finance Department, Technological
Educationa and Training Center of Sanggaran,
PLN (State Electricity Enterprise), Labour
Department, and PT Jamsostek. There is also
the Perbankan (BMPD) Bali, Pertamina (State-owned
Oil Company) of Denpasar branch, Denpasar
City Administration, and Badung Regency
Administration. “During the exhibition,
there will be of public entertainment in
each night, such as dances, Arja dance-drama,
Bondres, Wayang kulit (Puppet Leather Performance),
Sendratari dance-drama and others,”
