The Nusa Dua Concept for Tourism Development

Nusa Dua is much connected with BTDC (Bali Tourism Development Center). Few people realize that Nusa Dua, Bali’s premier luxury resort complex, is the result of an innovative idea first applied in Indonesia, which is the development and management of a resort complex by one supervisory body. This makes the building procedure simpler and more cost effective – and it is easier to carry out policies protecting the local culture and environment, to enforce standards of quality, and to ensure a coherent design concept.

The successes achieved by Nusa Dua are hanging under the BTDC’s supervision of creating the Nusa Dua as the garden of Bali which is absorb numerous tourists during years. - An integrated design concept reflecting the local culture’s traditional architecture and incorporating local craft products wherever it is appropriate. This ensure aesthetic authenticity and harmony, and reinforces the pride of local people in their culture.
With elite travelers demanding greater sensitivity to social and environmental issues, these principles reflect the concerns of both the host country and the targeted market.
Those concepts are well applied and success to absorb many investors. Indonesia Performing Arts Marts

Indonesia is rich in a variety of art and culture expressions, unique, special and attractive, spread over the whole country. Based on its classification, those art forms constitute authentic art of the ethnic groups, which have been developed from traditional roots into new forms of works.
Performing arts in Indonesia, have been slowly developed and groomed into an art form, which should be fit for the international market.
In order to be known by the world’s society, Indonesia Performing Arts should be given proper attention and conditioned to complete in the international market. With proper preparation and grooming, Indonesia feels ready to join the international performing arts market.
Potential data of the performing arts market in the world shows the existence of an opportunity to take advantage of this matter.
IPAM (Indonesia Performing Arts Marts), which is organized by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, in this respect is the Minister of Culture and Tourism, is a yearly event organized as a market. It is meant to be a forum where impresarios and organizations of arts and art-producers (as Buyers) could interact, from which is expected to result in the conclusion of an agreement to present group(s) performance from Indonesia (as Sellers) for a performance-tour abroad.
The participants that role as the Seller are the artists, art institutions, art experts, art critics, choreographers, composers, scholars, etc, whereas as the Buyers are art directors, managers of venues, producers, festival organizers, art colleges, agents, impresarios, foundations, cultural centers, embassy, art presenters, etc.
Several activities will extend within the event, which is Trade Affair of one by one meeting between sellers and buyers, Focus of performances to be viewed by international arts mart, and Business Forum that will present a series of meetings between experts as buyers in the performing arts market and sellers in a discourse/conference/workshop. This forum is a means of sharing experiences and discussion on the trend of performance art mart to day.
The organization of IPAM is planned to be held annually in different locations coinciding with calendar of program of the region. The first IPAM will be held on August 23rd – 27th, 2003 at Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.
