- Swadeshi Bali Foundations that consist
of Balinese youth presents ‘Sarasvati
Award 2003’ for foreign movie,
Indonesian movie, and student video
competition at Ballroom Discovery
Kartika Plaza Hotel, Kuta, last Friday
night (8/8). Previously, the movies
had been watched by 20.000 students
of all Bali. Sarasvati Award 2003
dedicated The Sons Room (Italy) as
the first prize, and Rain (New Zealand)
as the second prize. For the Student
Video Competition dedicated to Edy
Cahyono & Iva Ivansyah in the
movie ‘Air Mata Surga’ and
the Humanity Award for the movie ‘Marsinah’.
Meanwhile, the movie entitled ‘Biola
tak Berdawai’ was chosen to have
the best music and sound-track movie.
‘Aku ingin Menciummu Sekali saja’
as the best script. While, Slamet
Rahardjo in ‘Telegram’ movie
as the best director, Ayu Ashari in
‘Telegram’ movie and Nicholas
Saputra in ‘Biola tak Berdawai’
both as the best actress and actor.
According to President Community Bali
International Film Festival, A.A.Ngurah
Arya Wedakarna MWS, the purpose of
Balinese youth in performing Bali
International Film Festival 2003 is
to lift Bali up so that it is not
only well known all over the world
for its culture and religion, but
also as being capable to execute

– Connected with 55th Anniversary
Celebration of Bali Post Newspaper
Media, last Sunday (10/8), the Fun
Walking was executed for the entire
employees of KMB (Kelompok Media
Bali Post – Media Bali Post
Group) with their families. The
event was opened by General Director
of Bali Post, ABG Satria Naradha,
in front of the Bali Press Building
K. Nada, Denpasar, and offered hundreds

Anniversary
DENPASAR
- Related to the Fifth Anniversary
Celebration of Denpost, the town newspaper
that is also a member of Bali Post
Media Group held a concert entitled
“pentas bareng (collaboration
concert)” featuring the King
of Stage Widi Widiana and Bayu KW
at Ardha Candra Stage, Denpasar Cultural
Park, last Saturday (2/8). The concert
was supported by 40.000-watt sound
system and 200.000-watt lighting system.
Both of the singers who are totally
different in music, style, and staging
performance, were performing their
hits song from their album, and they
, they collaborated by singing each
other’s songs both written by
Bayu KW or Widi Widiana. The concert
was crowded with
many fans from both singers accompanied
by music group Punk Kwala Band and
enliven by the Balinese alternative
