Grapes,
the Mainstay Agro-tourism of Northern Bali
Exploring the boulevard
along Lovina beach, go forward to the west
of Batuampar tourism area, Grokgak, we will
get caught with tremendous panorama rarely
found in other areas in Bali. Garden of
grapes are spread out on the left and right
street border with gorgeous sea background
and coconut tree at the northern street,
whereas, the green hill grass with row of
coconut tree asserted by yellowish farmland
stand at south of the street.
What
a beautiful panorama! Moreover, at harvest
time, the farmer of man and woman with their
traditional hat move under the grapes
stem, picking each pellet of that brown-
reddish overripe fruit. Before harvesting
time, that grapes seem hanging on just like
a shinning brown pearl pellet under the
sunlight.
Buleleng is the only regency in Bali that
has developed grape agro-tourism. There
are more than ten villages of this northern
Bali area that improving grapes. For examples:
Dencarik village, Kalianget, Temukus, and
other villages in Banjar Sub district, then
at Banyupoh village, Grokgak Sub district,
and Kalanganyar village of Seririt Sub district.
Every of those grapes farmland are as the
territorial connector between Lovina and
Batuampar.
Grape plantation developed in big scale
in western Buleleng since 1970. Buleleng
grape is small in shape, a little bit big
than marbles. Reddish-brown colored when
it ripen and yellowish-green when it still
unripe yet. The grape market distribution
already reached the local market, such as
Denpasar, Kuta, and several hotels and traditional
market in Buleleng), and also distributed
to overseas countries. Its whimsical production
exist in beverage company at Buleleng that
set to process the grape become wine or
other drinks.
Moreover, the grape farmer of Banjar sub
district corporate with a Singapore investor
to accelerate the grape market. Besides
financial investing, that Singapore investor
assuring to buy all grapes that produce
by the farmer of Banjar area and surrounding.
