traditional arts, but modern arts
as well. It presented on the picture,
Ida Ayu Gita Phalasukma, born on
12 December 1997, walks on the catwalk
at fashion competition in 25th Bali
Arts Festival recently. Gek Gita
(her nick name) is as kindergarten
student of TK Handayani Denpasar.

DUA - About fifty artists from Wintang
Rare Studio that supported by Selakunda
Bali Foundation, fishing group of
Matsya Sujati and Ole sub village
dancer, Marga Village, Tabanan Regency,
followed the opening parade of Nusa
Dua Festival on last Friday (22/8).
The parade involved the children
and adults performing several kind
of tools and activities of farmer
in the farmland. Although simple
in performance, it absorbed much
applause and mesmerized the audience.
Moreover, many of them were caught

Woman
Gong Kebyar Mesmerize the Audience
DENPASAR
- First time staged in the publics
eyes, the woman gong kebyar competition
mesmerized the audience at Puputan
Badung Park on 15 17 August
2003, related to the 58th Anniversary
of Indonesian Independence Day.
About ten group of woman gong kebyar
participated, showing a magnificent
talented skill and amusing the jury
with their instrumental playing.
As the first winner is woman gong
kebyar group Sekar Sandat, Dangin
Peken sub village, Sanur Kauh Village,
the second is woman gong kebyar
group Lestari, Tangguntiti sub village,
Tonja, and the third is woman gong
kebyar group Waja Suara, Wangaya
Kaja sub village, Dauh Puri Kauh
Village. As the expectation winner
in a row is woman gong kebyar group
Gita Saraswati, Panti sub village,
Sanur, the second is woman gong
kebyar group Kebon Kuri Lukluk sub
village, Kesiman, the third is woman
gong kebyar group Ketapian Klod
sub village, Sumerta. They earn
a trophy, certificate, and money
prize of Rp 6,5 millions (first
winner), Rp 5 millions (second winner),
Rp 4 millions (third winner), whereas
the expectation winner receive only
Rp 2 millions for the first winner,
Rp 1,5 millions for the second winner,
and Rp 1 million for the third winner.

Filipposs
Exhibition
Filippos,
a sculptor who spring from Voles,
Greece in 1964, exhibits his works
at Ganesha Gallery Four Seasons Bali,
Jimbaran (Kuta). The exhibition with
the theme Nudes and Angel
executed from 5 Augusts until 26 September
2003, and performed 14 statues made
from wood, white stone, granite, and
metal. The naked stylish statue introduced
and put up for sale with the lowest
price of US$ 2,800 and the expensive
of US$ 28,000. Since 1990, Filippos
has lived in Indonesia and most recently
in Sayan, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali. He
confesses that had spent much pleasure
in Bali because of supporting environment
and of its sculptor, which is much
alike with his country. Even thought
Greece is one step ahead, however
the exact place for exhibition and
sell an arts product is Bali, because
Bali already famed and visited by
numerous tourists of all over the
