- Nusa Ceningan is becoming popular
with Taiwanese visitors, according
to the Director of Bali Cahaya Tours
(BCT), Muliadi Sukito. Each day
his travel agency handles more than
120 Taiwanese tourists who want
to enjoy the water sports at Nusa
Ceningan. Tourists are drawn to
the islands natural panorama,
waves and calm beaches, affording
them complete safety whilst in the
water. Sports like banana boating,
canoeing, diving, snorkeling, and
fishing have become popular. Seen

enjoying the sea and natural panorama

Nyenuk
Ritual Ceremony
Nyenuk
is a procession, which consists
of several convoys such as sesajen
(offering), ogoh-ogoh
a presentation from 9 angles deities
(dewata nawa sanga). Within the
convoy, two children (boy and girl)
carried from Puri Ubud wearing payas
agung (great adornment) as a symbol
of purity and holiness, which is
called bungan jaja.
The ritual started from Pura Dalem
Ubud, and finished at Pura Dalem
Bentuyung Sakti, Ubud, Gianyar on
the 23rd August last, and was accompanied
by bale-ganjur music and attended
by thousands of people. According
to ritual ceremony committee, Ir.
Tjok. Gde Oka Sukawati,the nyenuk
ceremony is the last ceremony series
of Dirgayusa Bhumi , Memungkah Ngenteg
Linggih Ngusaba Dalem, Tawur Agung
and Mepedanan at Pura Dalem Bentuyung

Planet Approaching the Earth

DUA - On Aug 27, 2003 Sekar Nusa Resort,
Nusa Dua, in collaboration with Echo
Club Japan held a special activity
to watch Mars approaching Earth. On
Aug 27, 2003 Mars will be the closest
distance to Earth (about 55.8 million
km), and will only happen again in
the next 284 years. The Echo Club
Japan provided telescopes for getting
a better view of the planet. Ayu Setuti,
Assistant Sales and Marketing Manager
of the resort said that Sekar Nusa
Resort Nusa Dua was very proud to
see the guests, clients and journalists
watching Mars together, whilst attending
a cocktail party and dinner at the

a Fruit carving demo.
The program is held every Wednesday
at 3 PM. After the demo, Mr. IB
