Bali Recovery Review
Meeting a Success
NUSA
DUA - A meeting to review the recommendations
of the PATA Bali Recovery Task Force
attracted more than 130 tourism managers
to the Bali International Convention
Centre in Nusa Dua on September 13.
PATA headquarters sent Task Force
representative, Mr. Bert van Walbeek,
and PATA Director, Mr. Stephen Yong
to lead the meeting. Sponsored by
Bali Discovery Tours, the meeting
included breakout sessions in which
the eight Task Force recommendations
were discussed. According to Bali
Discovery Tours principal, Mr. Jack
Daniels, a call for a more forceful
leadership on Balis tourism
issues was a recurrent theme. The
attendees demanded more focus and
direction from Balis tourism
leaders in developing strategies to
overcome the various crises that have
beset the island, he said. Mr.
Daniels also reported that the many
participants supported the Task Forces
recommendation for a professional
and well-funded marketing authority.
The PATA Bali and Nusa Tenggara Chapter
