Consciousness Entity of Interdependency

The core principle of Tri Hita Karana (THK) is to create a balance and harmonic existence between the three elements inside – parhyangan, pawongan, palemahan. Within this relationship, human (pawongan) sited at central position (subject) with assumption that God and nature composing its own ‘balance-harmony’ through His natural law. Only because of human’s behavior and attitude the ‘imbalance-inharmonic’ be enacted.
Reminds that human site a central position, then human should firstly realize that living in this world is depends each other. In other words, human as social being, can never live alone. That is the interdependency, interdependently and supported each other between human being and nature. By this consciousness, the process of balance and harmony can be reached.
The physic of human and nature are real (sekala) characterized. In THK context, the interdependency concept does not only involve physical element of sekala, but also of niskala (what you can see/unreal realm) as well. Niskala in Balinese life (Hindu) constitute of pertaining the power of bhuwana agung (universe) and the one who inspire (macrocosm), which is God the Almighty.
According to atma tatwa (philosophy about atma/spirit), human (atman/jiwatman) or bhuwana alit (microcosm) is the smallest and immeasurable part of bhuwana agung or makrokosmos (Paramatman/God the Almighty). The Balinese (Hindu) are really be convinced that human, nature, and all it’s contain are of God creation. Paramatman/God the Almighty is eternally and unlimited characterized whilst human is of limited and not eternally. However the God, according to Hindu’s Upanisad, in creating does not leaving His creation, in fact, it will directly inspire His creations (Wyapi-Wyapaka).
Depart from that concept, between sekala-niskala and macro-microcosm, it surely compose a causal relationship. So, adoring the microcosm means adoring the macrocosm, adoring of His creation means adoring the creator as well. It means, that a conviction appeared that human who adore God and His all of creations, will obtain a worth repayment in kind from God and His creations as well. The causality relationship is valid within.
That causality relationship, whether realized or not, actually will as a measurement of how deep and honest of human’s love, sympathy, respect, and devotion to God, which firstly determined by the high/low integrity of love, respect, and devotion of human to God’s creations. Thus, an opinion – or appropriately said as pretext – that said that ‘relationship of human and God’ is immeasurable, should be valid here. Stressing and pertaining of the words ‘love, respect, devout’ to God’s creation are more directed to prevent an exploitative characteristic and behavior, besides to improve a devout service term intern-human being and natural environment that belongs to God creation.
In THK concept, the causality relationship is totality characterized – God and His creations – should overseen to reach an inner welfare-outer world existence, physical material, and mental spiritual. In other words, an inner welfare-outer world existence, physical material, and mental spiritual of human, according to THK concept, will never be realized if one or more elements leave the other two elements. For example, no matter great and glorious does the religious rite that human’s do, in one side, it will never reached a welfare life if in another side they always exploited (sucking, squeezing, destroying) the nature and within human fellow.
What else can occurs if, for example, human execute illicit timber, polluting the water, and shoot the animals? This exploitative behavior in THK concept beside endanger of human own-existence also for other people and of life as well.
Similar with greedy person who polluted the environment – throwing waste to the river, lake, or sea, bombing the fishes, burning the forest, etc – is not only endanger for human self, also endangered for life existence. This is important to understand and realize the interdependency (supported each other and live in dependence).
The understanding and pertaining of interdependency concept is clearly stated in the holy book Bhagawad Ghita (III: 11,12,14) – one of THK source theory – ‘Keep the perpetuity of your environment (human) and the nature will save yours (human). By helping and supporting each other you (human) will gain an infinite happiness. And if you (human) conserved the natural environment perpetuity as an offering, the powers of the nature will give what ever you (human) want. Human body was made from what he/she ate, and food caused by rain, the rain decided by human consciousness of the environment and their own behavior. Actually, the one who enjoy the nature gift without deporting something, is much likely as a thief’.
