An intention and aspiration of mastering
Balinese dance fused inside Made Kintens

her skills in dancing is now released. This
hobby emerged when she was at third grade
Elementary School. Today, this mother with
three children has become a dance instructor
at Miniarthis Studio.
Since
long ago, she aspired to study in arts school.
Then, after graduating from junior high
school, she continued to study in SMKI (Senior
Arts School) Denpasar. To pay the school
fee, she earnt money not from her parents,
but from her dance performance at several
hotels in Denpasar.
Soon after finishing school, this artist
born on 10 December 1965 started actively
in dancing art. She performs her dancing
by going around the city of Amlapura. In
1990, she taught Balinese dance to elementary
children. Actively also in 1986/87, Kinten
was involved in the Bali Arts Festival,
until this year, she keeps motivating the
art dance of Karangasem at Miniarthis
Studio built on 20 April 1996.
Beside Bali, Kinten dances in Jakarta, Sumatra,
and Japan. Before the Bali bomb-blast, she
danced at several hotels in Denpasar. This
activity brought the owner of Miniarthis
Dance Studio to become acquainted with tourists
from Japan, Holland, and Australia.
The foreigners are delighted to watch the
activity at this studio that actively guides
Balinese children in dance art. In 1998,
tourists gave a contribution to build a
stage to support the studio. At present,
the studio located in Jangga Mekar sub village,
Karangasem sub district at Gatot Subroto
Street No.1 Amlapura, owned a glorious stage
supported by beautiful village nuance. From
Amlapura City, its about 1 km to the
west, and about 78 km to the east from Denpasar.
There are 200 children who practice twice
a week at the studio, I am committed
to teach children through this studio,
she said. Her firm belief made this studio
earn many achievements in dance art.
In 1999, Puspa Hredaya dance of her own
creation won first place. On each Porseni
(Arts and Sports Contest) Bali founded by
Kinten is always sited as the best of three
since 1991. In 2000, Kinten came out as
the winner of male and female category that

What Kinten expects is to push the children
ahead to conserve the dance art that materializes
