Tourist Loves Balinese Food
BADUNG
- Lately, several guests from Germany
spending their holiday in Kapal
village, Mengwi, Badung, were invited
to attend a wedding ceremony with
a Balinese girl. The German named
Mr. Steffen married Kadek Sri from
the local village. One of the guests,
Mr. Frank Noack, seems well associated
with the locals. The guests also
helped to serve other guests and
prepared the ceremonial needs, making
the food, such as lawar, sate, etc.
they love Balinese Food very much

Contest
DENPASAR
The theme of supporting the
governments program of Denpasar
as the city with cultural conception
and striving for a perception to
preserve the classical arts for
Bali culture in the future, a dance
contest of Rangda dance, Celuluk
dance and Matah Gede dance, was
staged last Monday (9/11). The contest
took place at bancingah quad of
Pura Desa Pakraman Denpasar, aimed
to supply fresh entertainment to
the Denpasar citizen, it also aimed
at cultivating creativities in preserving
existing classical dances. The contestants
are mainly Denpasar citizens with
minimum age of 15 years old and
maximum of 40. The contestants are
obligated to perform the dance composition
completely, with maximum duration
of 7 minutes. Meanwhile, the marking
category included movement technique,
expression, and performance. According
to Nyoman Astita the committee chairperson
of this arts staging, these sorts
of classical dances are rare and
less devoted, thats why it
needs to be socialized through this

Bamboo Music
SANUR
- Group Senior Welfare Center from
Seoul, Korea, performed angklung bamboo
music at Sanur Beach Hotel, here last
Friday, (7/11). The instrumentalists
consisted of an older-aged group that
on average was 65 years old who expressly
showed their ability in performing
one of the Indonesian characteristic
instruments. They presented 15 songs,
which consisted of 5 Indonesian songs,
2 Japanese songs, 4 foreign songs
and the rest were Korean songs. Indonesian
songs performed were Indonesia
Raya, Halo-halo Bandung, Bengawan
Solo, Putri Cening Ayu, and Pulau
Bali. Beside Bali, this group
lead by Mr. Chung Bong Woon will perform
a show in Bandung and Jakarta with
