Staff
Party
KUTA
Kuta Paradiso Hotel held a
staff party on 17th October 2003 on
the Budaya Open Stage. All staff and
their families were invited to attend
in order to build a warm and close
relationship between them. The day,
which was also Mr. Haryanto Karjadis
birthday (President Director of Paradiso
Group), many games and events were
held and attended by all staff, such
as a dance competition, stage games
and band. Kuta Paradiso Hotel also
provided many souvenirs to the staff
to appreciate their contribution.
The top event was the giving away
of a grand prize Yamaha
Jupiter, and Kadek Nariasih
from Food and Beverage Service came
up as the winner. Seen in the picture:
Mr. Ray Suryawijaya, S.E., MBA, all
Departament Head, the winner of the
grand prize and the Chairman of the

Painting
Exhibition in Art Center
DENPASAR
Three painters alumnus of Institut
Seni Indonesia (ISI) Indonesian
Art Institute Yogyakarta, performed
a painting exhibition in Gedung Kriya
Cultural Park (Art Center) Denpasar,
last 10-20 September 2003. They are
I Wayan Gede Santiyasa, I Wayan Arnata
and I Wayan Danu. They are also members
of Dewata Indonesia Studio performing
the abstract style, which is evocative,
full of inner inspiration, and interesting
individual existence. The exhibition
theme is From The Inner Self
and was opened by Made Sanggra, a
man of letters and an art-cultural
observer from Sukawati, Gianyar. (BTN/018)

Poetry
and Children Painting Contest
DENPASAR
Steps to improve childrens
creativity in literature attached
by children tabloid Lintang by executing
poetry reading contest around Bali
in Balinese Struggle Monument, at
Bajrasandhi, Renon, Denpasar, last
Sunday (9/11). The competition that
was attended by hundreds of elementary
children was divided into 2 categories,
which is Indonesian poetry and Balinese
poetry. The contestant is required
to read the poetry in the book Antalogi
Purnama, which is the qualified
result from poetry composition contest
that are performed by Balai Bahasa
(Language Center) and Lintang.
On the same day and place, a painting
contest was also held, the association
of works between Lintang, Rare Angon
Working Group, and Galang Kangin
Painter Group, seized for Bali Governor
alternate cup, beside selecting
10 talented little painters, 3 prospect
winners and 3 best painters.
After awarding prizes, the contest
represented by several officials
from Bali Provincial Government
and Denpasar City Administration,
continued with the opening ceremony
of a childrens painting exhibition
opened by Head Official of Bali
province who represented the Bali
Governor. The exhibition stored
various childrens paintings,
which were selected from the activity
melukis bersama (painting
together) that is held each
Sunday afternoon at Puputan Badung
Park. According to the chief committee,
Ni Made Ariani, this was the third,
after performing previously in Japan
and GWK Jimbaran few months ago.
