Within the Hotel Business
District
Regulation (Perda) of Bali Province No.
3/1991 (consummation of Perda 3/1974) about
cultural tourism, actually afford an application
even tied chance of Tri Hita
Karana (THK) concept within tourism business
service. Just as in the hotel, which is
the tourism backbone and integral part of
tourism industrial service, also bound to
apply THK concept within its daily business.
According to world marketing expert, Kotler
& Arstrong (2001), hotels as tourism
services providers should offers the guest
not just a room for rent, but simultaneously
provide an unforgettable journey experience.
Here, it needed not just a physical hotel
beautification in meaning of glorious
building, complete and sophisticated facilities
but also full hospitality from the
internal community of its organizer human.
THK concept totally indicated that, because
THK dedicates a harmony relationship not
merely between human being as social creature
with natural environment which is
tangible and visible at ease but
also of harmonic relationship with God the
Almighty. The relationship with God totally
connected with spiritual values, shape of
belief and credence, emotional and religion
facilities.
Previously it said that the application
of THK inside the tourism business service
realm, including within the hotel business
management realm in Bali have an opportunity
and connect together. Besides because of
cultural tourism that improved in Bali based
on Balinese culture and THK concept - Perda
3/1991 about cultural tourism but
also because of full hospitality needs.
This full-hospitality can only actualized
consistently and constantly with awareness
that lies inside, besides because of regulation
pressure or bureaucracy. The awareness inside
is possible to grow with THK application,
because the hints of awareness join forces
raise amongst individual.
According to Perda 3/1991, cultural tourism
is types of tourism that improved with Balinese
culture as the major modal, and THK as the
life concept of the Balinese (Hindu), which
emphasized the relationship of harmony and
balance. This balance and harmonic affiliation
is as the hints of join forces awareness,
which is mean that awareness should grow
proportionally.
The configuration of balance and harmonic
relationship amongst human with God
(spiritual realm), between human (social
realm) and environmental nature (physical
realm) in THK is one intact unity,
which is mean to reach a prosperousity of
life, physical and mentally as it
indicated in THK concept merely not
possible to avoid one of those three subsystem:
spiritual, social, physic/nature.
A relation between human and their God is
an analog culture/thought prototype subsystem
with parhyangan (spiritual realm), amongst
human affiliation is an analog social subsystem
with pawongan (social realm), and relationship
between human and environmental nature is
an analog artifact/material/physical subsystem
with palemahan (natural realm). Is it possible
to for human to live within this world separated
from those three affiliations?
Depart from above description, the element
of THK in hotel business of micro environmental
can be identified: (1) region (land) and
hotel building with all physical element,
including technology that used to run that
hotel is artifact/material/physical subsystem
as the proponent of gatra (entity) palemahan;
(2) the hotel organizer (SDM/human resource),
costumer, client/supplier are social subsystem
as the proponent of gatra pawongan; (3)
thought prototype, the shape of belief and
credence of hotel internal community are
culture subsystem as the proponent of gatra
parhyangan. Another question, is it possible
the hotel may survive without put a deep
attention of those three affiliations?
Not even survive; the hotel will not exist
if none of physical subsystem, including
technology that activates the hotel is not
exist. That hotel will not operate if the
pawongan subsystem (SDM human resource
, costumer, client/supplier) is not
existed. Another subsystem, which is thought
prototype/culture company culture,
the figure of belief and credence, religion
system, emotional, and religious supporting
facilities of the owner and hotel organizer
truly destines the hotel management
direction, so it is absolutely needed.
The same thing appear with the major forces
in tourism businesss macro environment
which is according to Kotler &
Arstrong (2001) consists of demography,
economy, politic, culture, technology
even of explicitly or implicitly included
inside THK concept.
Nature and technology are physicals sub
systems (palemahan); demography (resident),
politic and economy is social subsystem
(pawongan); culture is thought prototype
subsystem (parhyangan). Those three subsystems
physical, social, and culture
within THK concept should balanced or harmony.
In other words, amongst subsystems should
not disintegrate/exploited each other. (BTN/B.
