Jeremy Thomas at Bali Bird Park

SINGAPADU - Movie actor Jeremy Thomas and his family paid a visit to the Bali Bird Park recently for the “Feathered Fun Festival”. Jeremy Thomas along with Ina (his wife) and both children, Matthew and Vallerie, came to Bali to spend their Lebaran vacation for one-week. They saw more than 1500 bird collections, which live in the tropical park.
Jeremy Thomas chose the Bali Bird Park because he wants to enlarge his children’s view and to just relax with his family in the beautiful park. Located on 2 hectares of land at Singapadu village, in Gianyar regency – Bali’s Bird Park owns many rare animal species, including 1500 birds from 250 of the world’s species. Bali Bird Park opened in 1995, and carries a mission to uphold the environment and to educate future generations to make them more aware and concerned to preserve various animals, in Bali especially, and the world in general. ‘Bali Travel News Fun Bike 2003’

DENPASAR - 275 push-bikers attended Bali Travel News Fun Bike 2003. The event was held on Sunday, 7 December at Bajra Sandhi monument, Renon, Denpasar. The participants were hotel employee’s, tourist police officers and others. The starter, Bali’s Chief of Tourist Police, AKBP Ketut Kadiana, (MBA), flagged off the 275 participants to the excitement of the crowd. (BTN/015/018)


 

 

“Bali Travel News” 5th Anniversary

DENPASAR - To celebrate Bali Travel News 5th Anniversary on 4 December 2003, General Manager, B. Ashrama (right) cutting corn-yellow-rice for Bali Travel News staff for the 5th year anniversary this year. Bali Travel News celebrated its birthday in front of the Bali Post Temple (foto left). Seen in the picture above, Mr.Rudana owner of Rudana Art Gallery (centre) opened Bali Travel News Gallery painting exhibition in Bali Art Centre Denpasar. Book Launching

DENPASAR – Poet Alit S. Rini (43) launched a book entitled “Karena Aku Perempuan Bali (Because I’m a Balinese Woman)” at the Sidik Jari Museum Denpasar, last Saturday (22/11). The event coincided with her birthday. The launch was represented by Denpasar’s Major AAN Puspayoga and the Head of the Bali Tourism Authority Prof. I Gde Pitana, who is also an admirer of the works of Nyoman Wirata (Alit’s husband). In her book that contains poetry , the mother of two daughters expresses her disappointed of today’s social life, especially the position, status, and role of Balinese women. She reminds women of there marginal position, but also a critic on deliberateness of groups of people who make a benefit from religious values, customs and traditions, including caste, to repress and restrain women in social life, especially ritual obligations. The critic is not just dedicated to mankind, but to all womankind who realize it or not, to always support womens marginality efforts. The preface for the book was written by a lecturer at the Department of Letters at Udayana University, Dr. I Nyoman Darma Putra,M.Litt. (BTN/015)

 

 

“Dharma Wacana”

 KUTA – To attach spiritual enlightenment for all their staff, Alam Kulkul Boutique and Resort performed a Dharma Wacana (religious seminar) Speaker was Ida Pedanda Gede Made Gunung, at Bunga Kelapa Meeting Room at the Alam Kulkul Boutique Resort, last Wednesday (12/11). Dharma Wacana took the topic “Melalui Kesinambungan Hidup Menuju Kebahagiaan (With Life Sustainable Toward Happiness)” and also aimed to follow up the sustainable program of Tri Hita Karana (THK) within the hotel environment. At this occasion Ida Pedanda Gede Made Gunung said through physical and spiritual balance, mankind could reach a joyful life. And to reach moksa (final destination in Hindu belief), can only earned from karma (our deeds) through self-control. (BTN/015)
