Fashion
Blast of APPMI Bali
For
the very first time, since it was established
on last 30 May 2004, the Association of
Fashion Designers and Entrepreneurs of Indonesia
(APPMI) Bali held the event entitled Fashion
Blast at the Serba Guna Hall of Istana Kuta
Galleria on Sunday (28/11) involving 13
fashion designers from Bali with the presentation
of 6-10 outfits each. On the night 2 new
member aspirants and a guest designer from
APPMI Yogyakarta presented their creations.
The
current Fashion Blast presented some innovative
and dynamic designs. Designers who took
part were Andrianto Halim (taking the theme
Lady in Lace), A. Agnes Caroline (Electro
Culture), Ali Charisma (Harem Lady), Andre
Vesselle (Sense of Asia Behaviour), Angliqua
Indah Argawa (Sexy Feminine), Monika Weber
(Trap), Bintang Mira (Eastern History),
Dewi Suarjani (Secret of the Sea), Putu
Aliki (Bintchy Witch), Dwi Iskandar (Attractive
Simplicity), Oka Diputra (Tie Me Up, Tie
Me Down), Tjok Abi (Puris Heritage),
Yudi Hermawan (Bali in Romance) and Muji
Ananta (Aluminium Inspiration).
Despite the joint presentation in the agency
of APPMI Bali, formerly each designer has
already their own brand and market segment.
They also obtained orders from metropolis
artists of Jakarta and even provided orders
from foreign tourists who are staying in
Bali. The fashion show was attended by members
clients, government officials, entrepreneurs
in Bali and also several societal circles
including tourists, intended to introduce
themselves to the wider community, especially
those who cared for the world of fashion
in Bali.
The Chairman of APPMI Bali, Dwi Iskandar
said that his presentation more emphasized
ready-to-wear fashion. Materials used were
prioritized to home made ones. Business
aspects remained to be significant considerations
in this matter, but he also showed off a
special touch in his fashion design. By
doing so, fashion lovers in Bali would get
more choices. Through this activity,
we expect that fashion lovers in Bali do
not need to go out of Bali just to order
their desired fashion, affirmed Dwi
Iskandar who is also a fashion designer.
It was also added that APPMI Bali at all
times makes fashion shows aimed for the
learning process for beginner designers.
Previously, they made a show at Bali Arts
Festival 2004 that was intended to try-out
for those who would be attending Fashion
Tendance that is regularly held in Jakarta
since 1993.
