Christmas Lighting Ceremony

NUSA DUA – The Management of Bali Hilton International held a ‘Christmas Lighting Ceremony’ Friday (17/12) at the hotel’s Sunken Lobby. The lively harmonious event presented the orphanage children’s choir singing carols during the Christmas Lighting celebration. This event was attended by employees, hotel’s guests and partners whilst enjoying a cocktail party. The Christmas Lighting Ceremony was opened by Ian McKie, Director of Hotel Operations with few welcoming words and switching on the power to light the beautiful lamps on the giant Christmas tree in the hotel’s lobby. Book Launching; “Your Spiritual Abilities”

DENPASAR- “Last year, I launched a book entitled “living in the spirit” on my birthday and feel unfair if I only take pleasure in my own happiness, so I would like to share my joy with my husband in celebrating his birthday on 22 December by launching a book entitled ‘Kemampuan Spiritual Anda (Your Spiritual Abilities)’ published by Intisari Magazine, Jakarta”, said Prof. Dr. Luh Ketut Suryani, Spkj, a psychiatrist and writer attending a Workshop “Meditasi Relaksasi dan Diskusi (meditation Relaxation and Discussion)”, on Saturday (18/12) at DPRD Bali Hall. Luh Ketut Suryani explained that this book was written based on her experiences in giving public sessions for years and also based on many discussion events. Suryani’s writings were packed within the Intisari Book containing 290 pages with the price of Rp 30.000. 7, 500 copies of the book were put on sale on 11 December 2004 in Jakarta. “The book is easy to understand and interesting to read,” said Lily Wibisono, Operation Redactor of Intisari Magazine


Nusa Dua International Jazz Festival

NUSA DUA – Bali, for the first time played host to the International Jazz Festival, which was held on 28-29 December at Amphi Theatre BTDC, Nusa Dua, Bali. This end-year event was hoped to be able to revitalize Jazz music. “The festival also was held to entertain Indonesian Jazz lovers,” said Lena an Associate Festival Director at a press conference, Monday (27/12) at Bali Gardenia Resort, Nusa Dua Bali. The NuDIZZ (Nusa Dua International Jazz) impressed the audience with all its uniqueness and attractions. This year the International Jazz Festival will present the best local and abroad Jazz musicians like Masaco Hamamura and Juasa Kanoh (Japan), Peter Scher (Hong Kong), Christy Smith (Singapore), Eldad Tarmu (USA), Aksan Sjuman, Dewa Budjana, Andien, Harvey Malaiholo and Glenn Fredly (Indonesia). “This year’s festival is a lunching/pre-party for a truly great festival in 2005, where other of the world’s great jazz musicians are willing to take part like Sergio Mendes (Brazilian Jazz), Bill Bruford & Earth Work (ex. YES & Genesis), Trilok Gurtu (Indian Percussion), Annie Lenox and Sade,” said Lena. (BTN/para)
