”Joged Bungbung”, Afternoon Entertainment at BAF

DENPASAR – “Sekaa Joged Lila Cita”, Banjar Kelaci, Marga Dauh Puri Village, Tabanan appeared at Ayodya stage, Art Center Denpasar held as a part of the 27th BAF on Wednesday (22/6). Presentation of this “joged bungbung” made the afternoon enjoyable for visitors. Five dancers of “joged” like Putu Mira, Ida Ayu Wida, Dek Mardani, Putu Wiwik and Wayan Sutri never salient “pengibing” (audience invited to dance together). (BTN/015)

“Ajeg Bali” Billeting

TABANAN – 58 students from SMTP (Junior High School) in Bali joined in the activities of “Ajeg Bali” Billeting at Lumajang, Tabanan. The activities were held by the Association Teachers of “Ajeg Bali” from June 26 – 29, 2005. For three days they joined several activities like “Dharma Wacana”, “Dharma Tula”, a practice to make offerings, Bali language appreciation, and meditation. (BTN/015)

 

Bharata Natyam Dance

DENPASAR – The Indian Cultural Center (ICC) Bali performed a Bharata Natyam Dance, of worship/dedication to God at the Ksirarnawa Building Art Center Denpasar on Sunday (26/6). Dance that has several parts, likes Anjali/Sang worship and Kavuthwams version supported by 13 dances co-coordinated by Nandini Khrisna as the teacher and dancers. (BTN/015)

Gamelan Galaktika Group MIT – Boston America

DENPASAR – A gamelan Galatika from the Masachusetrs Institute of Technology (MIT) – Boston America appeared playing the Bali Gamelan at the front of Kriya Building Art Center Denpasar on Sunday (26/6). The group is participating in the 27th BAF and supported by 25 artists. Composer Evan Ziporyn performs 3 dances, Gringsing, Tire Fire and Semara Wijaya dances, also 5 drum solos, Flying Gold Fish drum and Dangerous Thing. (BTN/015)
