and gardenia (Denpasar).Other than mascot
flora from each regency mentioned above,
2000 trees were also planted on the same
day of which commonly belong to extinct
plants as cemara pandak, kepelan, rasamala,
klecung, mundeh, kaliasem, sentul, nyeleket
and otaheite chestnut. There are also some
mascot floras of the Bali Flora Lovers Association
namely pucuk rejuna (hibiscus), gardenia

I Gusti Nyoman Dana, Monitoring and Recovery
Head of Bapedalda, or Bali Environmental
Impact Management Agency said to Bali Travel
News that flora mascots at respective regencies
were selected based on the consideration
that these plants had uniqueness and typicality
of each regency and is appropriately planted
in the region. Except for that, this
plant customarily functions as ingredients
of rituals that is frequently carried out
by Hindu devotees in Bali, he said.
Following the celebration, a discussion
was also held as a means of communication
between the minister and the eco-concerned
community. Rahmat Witoelar on that occasion
said that World Environment Day was celebrated
worldwide as a self-reflection day as the
environment needed preserving and maintaining.
An interesting expression said by
one of the participants was that if the
forest is in a right condition springs will
emerge, but if forest is damaged tears will
flow everywhere, quote by the minister.
