Kuta Food Festival

KUTA—A stunning sunset, cool sea breezes, pop music and a gamelan orchestra brightened up the summer night on Kuta Beach. A myriad visitors overwhelmed Kuta to indulge in the celebration of the Food Festival 2005 that took place on 2-3. It was opened at 17.00 Local Time and as night fell, more visitors started arriving. Several hotels, restaurants, bakery outlets, wine suppliers and many more took part in the food festival and sold their products to visitors. They offered Indonesian and diverse international menus that started from IDR 5,000. (BTN/029)

 


Buying Gifts at This Year’s BAF

DENPASAR—The annual art extravaganza of the Bali Arts Festival 2005, in fact, did not only bring performances to travelers. In the midst of such activities, travelers also did window-shopping for souvenirs to bring home, ranging from art & crafts to spa well-being products in the basement of Ksirarnawa Building or at southern exhibition booth. Some products that attracted visitors and buyers were spa and aromatherapy products that are made of natural ingredients consisting of scrubs, essence oil (jasmine, sandalwood, lemon, frangipani and many more), ceramic incense stick bases, massage oils, spa soap, footbath salt and so forth. Jasmine essence oil, for instance, can promote a balance of mind, sensitivity and warmth. (BTN/029)

Tourists Join in Dancing

DENPASAR – Female dancers also mothers and businesswomen visited the BAF laugh past “Prembon” performance at Angsoka Stage Art Center Denpasar on Thursday (7/7) with many tourists joining in as well. The “Prembon” uses 8 dancers and 27 drummers from Tri Suari Studio, Cemengon, Sukawati, Gianyar with the story ‘Ayu Berangsinga’ part of “Babad Gelgel”. (BTN/015)


The Anniversary of Neka Art Museum

UBUD – The 27th anniversary of Neka Art Museum Ubud, on Sunday (17/7) launched three art books “Ink Witness”: Expression of Prose Art, Poem & Poetry by Tjokorda Raka Kerthayasa; “The Neka Art Museum”: A study of a Successful Tourist Attraction in Bali by Prof. Dr. Neil Leiper, and “Paint Art”: Nature inspiration and Bali Culture by Garrett Kam translated to Japanese by Chika Yamakami and Kiyoshi Naruse. Neka Art Museum is private museum of Pande Wayan Suteja Neka exhibiting Balinese Classic paintings and modern works. The exhibition is decorated attractively so that visitors can easily learn about the historic development of paint art in Bali. (BTN/Para)
