Moscow Mayor Visits Bali

NUSA DUA – Moscow’s Mayor Yuri M. Luzhkov and family and his delegation stayed at Nikko Bali Resort & Spa from July 7-11, 2005 following a visit to Bali after their trip to Singapore for Russia’s bid to the IOC to host the 2012 Olympics. In a pre-departure photo at the hotel lobby are Mayor Luzhkov (center in the dark jacket) and party along with Nikko management. (BTN/*)

Pekaseh Former Receives Retired Donation

BADUNG – Badung Region Secretary, Kompyang R. Swandika, SH, MH has transferred donations to four pekaseh that have finished their job. The retired donation Rp.1, 5 million together with a plaque was handed over to I Wayan Cenok (the late) pekaseh former Subak Saradan Pesedahan Yeh Lauh, I Wayan Sampun pekaseh former Subak Babakan Bengkel II Pesedahan Yeh Kilap Petang, I Wayan Mundri pekaseh former Subak Bantas Pesedahan Yeh Bolo and Si Gde Bajra pekaseh former Subak Abang Pesedahan Yeh Penet, Darmasaba. Vietnam National Administration of Tourism

KUTA – As a member of ASEAN (Association of South East Nation) group, Vietnam has paid a visit to several ASEAN country members. It’s purpose is to look at tourism development in particular countries. After a visit to Langkawi (Malaysia), Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Office of Bali, Government, Udayana University and Association of Tourism Industry in Bali Tourism (VNAT) visited Bali last month. The visit was headed by Dr. Nguyen Phu Duc – Vice Chairman of VNAT, its purpose was to equally study because Bali opinioned successes in tourism expansion considered to be world class. (BTN/*)


Panorama Nirwanyata

UBUD – A Painting exhibition titled “Panorama Nirwanyata” was held at Tama Gallery, Ubud, Gianyar recently. The abstract painting is the work of two painters I Gusti Ngurah Buda, alumnus of The Indonesia Art High School (Denpasar) and I Made Mahendra Mangku alumnus Faculty of Paint Art, Institute of Indonesia Art (Yogyakarta). The exhibition was opened Dr. Made Mangku (Activist of Life Environment) on Sunday (24/7) and will continue until Sunday (14/8). (BTN/015)

Cleanliness Action

JIMBARAN – Management and employees of Hotel Bali Hilton International together with students and teachers at SLB carried out a cleanliness activity on Friday (22/7) at environment in SLB. B, Jimbaran. The month activity from the Green Team Bali Hilton International is connected of Tri Hita Karana program. According the chairman of THK and also Assistant Personnel Manager, Trisna Kusumajaya, this activity aims to develop a togetherness feeling to guard environment cleanliness especially plastic rubbish. We also have contributed a lawn mower and several trees. (BTN/Para)

Sunset on the Border of Wanagiri-Gitgit

BULELENG - A nice atmosphere at sunrise can be seen from the frontier of Gitgit and Wanagiri Village, Sukasada sub district, Buleleng regency. This frontier
is situated some 17 km en route from Denpasar to Singaraja, at Yeh Ketipat hamlet. From this location, apart from seeing the allurement of sunrise, we can also rejoice in the cluster of Gitgit and Wanagiri hill ranges. Its air is cool even though at daytime. Trees at the surrounding offer distinguishing charm, typicality of hill trees. Likewise, at noon, you still can have a glimpse of how the sun dives into the hill range in the west.
