Bagus
Sudibya to Chair BTB 2005-2009
Having passed through long-lasting and
straining process, Bagus Sudibya was elected
as the Chairman of Bali Tourism Board (BTB)
for the 2005-2009 term on the convention
held at Discovery Kartika Plaza Kuta on
last 25 August.
 During
the previous leadership (2002-2005), BTB
accommodated nine associations or stakeholders
that concurrently constituted the founder
of Bali Tourism Board which consists of
PHRI (Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant
Association), ASITA (Association of Indonesian
Travel Agents), HPI (Association of Indonesian
Tour Guides), Gahawisri (Association of
Marine Tourism Operator), Putri (Association
of Indonesian Recreation Park), SIPCO (Society
of Indonesian Professional Convention Organizer),
PATA Bali Chapter, Bali Village and Pawiba
(Association of Bali Tourist Transport).
In the convention on last 25 August, Bagus
Sudibya who is also Chairman of ASITA Bali
won in slight variance against Putu Agus
Antara with the ratio 14:13 of 27 votes
that were competed in the convention.
To Bali Travel News, the elect Chairman
of BTB Bagus Sudibya, who is also owner
of Nusa Dua Bali Tour, said that his party
would execute internal consolidation with
entire stakeholders so the programs of BTB
reflected their aspiration as the authority
holder of BTB.
In addition, he promised that he would establish
harmonious relationship with the government
that have been interrupted in the past.
“Cooperation with the government is
a must,” uttered Bagus Sudibya.
At the press conference held in BTB office
one day before the convention, the Secretary
General of BTB Ray Suryawijaya said that
it would expand its membership. In this
matter, BTB would go hand in hand with three
pillars, namely government, industry and
the community. Some aspirants of stakeholders
that have been widely discoursed such as
