Up Holy Water

of the Padma Sari, a small temple
within in the villa, The Luxury
of Privacy Villa Kubu Seminyaks
employees, lead by Gede Sukarta, the
General Manager of the Villa prayed
and got bessing by picking up a holy
water at Melanting Temple in Pulaki,

Anniversary
The
Ritz-Carlton, Bali Resort & Spas
award winning Thai restaurant, Padi
celebrated its 1st anniversary with
a special wine dinner and series of
private and public cooking classes
attended by resort guests, the public
and a list of influential personalities
from various fields of expertise.
Kicking off the month long celebrations,
a private cooking class with Padis
renowned Chef de Cuisine Nu Suandokmai
took invited guests on a culinary
journey through the tastes of Thailand,
revealing the secrets behind the vibrant,
exotic and aromatic cuisine the restaurant
has become famed for. Chef Nu and
his two accomplished Thai chefs demonstrated
how to correctly use a Thai mortar
and pestle to make the embodiment
of Thai cuisines spicy chili
pastes, aromatic sauces & dishes
and how to use a wok true Thai style
to guests.
The mornings handiwork of Yum
Woon Sen (Salad of Glass Noodles with
Pork Squid, Blak Fungus and Lime,
Coriander and Chili Dressing), Tom
Kha Gai (Spicy Chicken Soup with Coconut
Milk) and Pad Thai Hor Kai, (traditional
Thai Rice Noodles cooked with Tamarind,
Peanuts, Tofu, Bean Sprout and Prawns
wrapped in Omelet) were enjoyed over
a leisurely lunch with the Master
and included an excellent pairing
of wines from South Australias
Nepenthe Valley.
A special tribute dinner hosted by
Resort General Manager David Wilson
was also held as part of the celebrations.
Showcasing Chef Nus flawless
cuisine the dinner was a sumptuous
twelve dish feast of robust and spicy
food savored and relished over four
courses. Personally prepared by Chef
Nu, the hand selected menu was designed
to accompany a range of five lively
aromatic and well balanced wines grown
in the Adelaide Hills Nepenthe Valley.
