Batur, Premier Destination of Bangli
The Charm of Lake
Batur, probably, has been watched by millions
of tourists from all over the world. For
Bangli Regency, the lake along with its
active Mount Batur, in fact, remains to
be the premier destination of this regency.
Moreover, Bangli is the only regency in
Bali that has no beaches.
Mount
Batur is declared normal active of which
calderas surrounded by spreading crescentic
lake with cobalt blue water. This intriguing
panorama can be clearly seen from Penelokan
or the road on the Penelokan-Kintamani route.
At the roadside, sits a line of restaurants
and hotels and the magnificence of Lake
Batur.
Lake Batur with circumference of some 6
km constitutes the territory of five villages,
namely Songan, Trunyan, Abangbatudinding,
Buahan and Kedisan. Each village has its
own distinctiveness as that of Trunyan Village.
Inhabitants of this village lay down their
dead under a big tree called Taru
Menyan. Probably, the name of
this tree was then adopted to become the
name Trunyan Village, says Yudaman
from Bangli Government Tourist Office.
In the evening, the view of Mount Batur
is glowing. For those who enjoy fishing,
complete rigs are already available here,
while those that would like to rejoice in
the view around the lake or watch unburied
corpses where speedboat is available from
Kedisan Village at IDR 213,000 vice versa
holding maximum of 7 passengers, will get
you there. So is the trekking activity.
Trekking to Mount Batur has tempted
many interested guests, he says while

The Government Tourist Office is now developing
various events that will possibly attract
visitors to come. Amongst them is a series
of decorated jukung outrigger races every
year. This is confirmed by Gde Artha, a

Songan Village. Hot springs or geysers
around Toya Bungkah are believed to have
efficacy curing skin illnesses like itches
