Buleleng Northern Lights

Lovina, Gorgeous Beach in Northern Bali

Kuta, Nusa Dua and Sanur in Southern Bali are not the only gorgeous beaches in Bali. There are a number of other beaches having a different ambience. Lovina in Northern Bali, for instance, is one of the beaches that is worth visiting, moreover if you desire a novel mood that spreads tranquillity away from hustle and bustle.

Passage from Denpasar (Southern Bali) to Lovina (Northern Bali) is indeed far flung—some 100 km. However, the road leading to this beach is mainly in good condition and asphalted. Another superiority is—probably cannot be found at other places—is a hilltop area passed through by road that is snaky, steadily upwards and slopes downward and also retains a distinctive enjoyment of its own. Along the road, you can discern the verdant view of coffee, and clove plantations and go by three lakes—again, another superiority that is hard to find somewhere else across Bali.
From the height of the road, you will behold alluring panorama ever blanketed by coolness. Here, you will always feel to be at the summit of life. Some appealing tourist objects that are worth visiting prior to leaving for Lovina are like Taman Ayun Temple, Lake Beratan and Gitgit Waterfall as your sojourn for a while.
Lovina Beach is located 6 km west of Singaraja, the capital of Buleleng Regency. It has black sandy beach and mellow waves. Compared to beaches in southern Bali, Lovina Beach is categorized as lacking visitors. Nevertheless, here sit hundreds of international hotels and restaurants so you need not be afraid that you will be overtaken by the night or starving. In addition, a line of small food stalls provide traditional and international menu are easy to find.
Originally, Lovina Beach had no name. Once upon a time, I Gusti Nyoman Panji Tisna, an aristocrat then and also a celebrated man of letters, made a visit there. He had a promenade on the black sandy beach while enjoying the heat of the sun. He went there several times in different climates.
After the dawn broke, he glimpsed at the sun that just rose from behind the hill range and before the night fell the sun set on the western horizon leaving an outpouring reddish colour behind the skyline and ocean water. Every day and all the year round, this vista can be discerned. Such climate made him so impressed and a feeling of pride that manifested itself in his heart as an Indonesian who had an unparalleled allure of nature. Then, the beach was named Lovina, derived from the words Love and Ina (Indonesia).
The tranquil Lovina Beach is good for diving activities. Therefore, some services have been provided to escort you enjoying its stunning undersea vista. Should you like to sail by jukung outrigger while fishing, local inhabitants are ready to accompany. More than that, Lovina also extends fascinating dolphin watching where you can observe flocks of dolphin playing together. By and large, the outrigger that will lead you for the package has been ready from early morning. Within an hour’s sail, you will see several dolphins jumping out of the water as if they were pleased to welcome the coming of the morning sun.(BTN/Gung Man)
