Tabanan, Rainbow over Ricefields

The Ocean to Sell Sunsets, Dewi Sinta for Relaxed Ambience

Taking a seat and relax at the sphere of Tanah Lot while waiting for sunset is sufficiently intriguing. Tourist object that located at Beraban Village, Kediri Sub district—13 km south of Tabanan City or some 60 minutes drive from Ngurah Rai Airport—is thronged by a great number of visitors that would like to discern the disappearance of the sun on the western horizon, or the rising of the full moon in the evening

Other allure that comes to be the attraction to visitors is Tanah Lot Temple that is isolated from the land. Temple that was founded in the XV century by the sage Dang Hyang Dwijendra from Majapahit indeed offers irresistible perspective.
To reach the temple, you should pass through 330 kiosks with a variety of products like postcard, painting, sculpture, fabric, apparel, and souvenir and tattoo-making service. Entrance fee is IDR 3,300 for adult and IDR 1,800 for child. While, parking fee is IDR 600 for motorbike, IDR 1,500 for four-wheel vehicle and IDR 2,500 for the six-wheel.
Superb angle to view sunset is from under the tree located on the west of Tanah Lot Temple or area of Enjung Galuh Temple, or from the height on the left side of entrance access to the temple. There, you will be accompanied by some cafés that are open since 16:00 till dark.
Since last 1 July, at the area of Enjung Galuh has occurred The Ocean Bar & Restaurant. Not only sunset that you can see from there. Relaxedly, you can also observe the local community who are going to pay homage to the temple. Since the morning till by noon, you can have a look at the guests who are surfing.
Restaurant that is open from 10:00 to 22:00 provides international menu. A variety of menu like European, Chinese and Asian or even the Balinese traditional food are available here. Chiefly for Balinese food, mixed rice and rice cone are the most favoured. The locals and European and Japanese tourists prefer this rice as well.
Restaurant that has capacity of 60 seats is visited by a large number of guests in the afternoon, starting from 15:00 to 21:00. “We serve fresh food and its ingredients are bought in the morning so we do not keep them too long,” said Dewa Made Purnamayasa, Manager of The Ocean.
It was said that, The Ocean Bar & Restaurant more frequently provides buffet lunch. This restaurant that averagely visited by 20 guests per day prepares package price, namely IDR 65,000 for lunch and IDR 75,000 for dinner.

Dewi Sinta
Meanwhile, Dewi Sinta Hotel & Restaurant is different. Restaurant that was founded on 14 January 1985 is situated in the midst of art shops. It is only 200 meters from parking lot or 50 meters from Tanah Lot Temple. European, Chinese, Indonesian and Balinese delicacies are on offer here. “We provide grilled fish with Balinese spices (fresh sambal). Its spice is not too hot so it can be enjoyed by everyone,” said Agil Satria from General Affairs Department of Dewi Sinta Hotel & Restaurant.
Other distinctive food is rice cone. This rice consists of fresh fish grilled in banana leaf, assorted vegetable salad dressing with coconut sauce, twisted satay, croquette, prawn served in ‘ingka’ or plate made of plaited palm ribs. There is also grilled kampong chicken with Balinese spices or lawar (one of Balinese delicacies) made of bee. While, light meals consisting of assorted Balinese cakes can also be ordered here.
Similarly, Dewi Sinta has three dining rooms with distinguishing features. In front lies the Jukung Teras. Having meals here gives relaxed impression, mainly in the afternoon. The next is main restaurant room that mostly utilized for lunch and dinner on account of quiet ambience. This room has 150 seating capacity. “Should you like to have meals while luxuriating in watching Balinese cultural performance like barong, cak or other dances, you can reserve seat at wantilan hall, easterly of the restaurant,” Agil added.
It was also said that on the season of school holiday or yearend, this restaurant is visited by many a domestic guest. “They mostly prefer Indonesian and Chinese food. In addition, many choose package menu, too,” said Agil to Bali Travel News. (BTN/015)
