was quick, neat and sympathetic. Responce
from the central government was very quick,
only one hour after the bomb blast happened,
Indonesian President Susila Bambang Yudhoyono
(SBY) held a coordination meeting at Sukarno-Hatta
Air port. Less than one day after the tragedy
SBY visited the places where the tragedies
happened.

to this tragedy not only shown through their
sympathy and visited the scene and also

instructed all ministers to come up with
effective ways to solve security problems,
especially in Bali. (BTN/015)
Islamic
Figures Should Take Part in Warding off
Terrorism
Vice
President Jusuf Kalla invited Islamic figures
to overcome terrorism together, including
improving peoples misunderstanding
in implementing Islamic teachings. Government
expects the central leader of Islam to take
part in warding off this (terrorismred.),
said the Vice President on the occasion
of fasting break together with Islamic leaders
at Vice Presidents Palace, Thursday
(13/10).
According to the Vice President, there was
a misunderstanding by a small group of Muslims
that acted on behalf of jihad then executed
terror as suicidal bombing. Whereas, similar
suicidal bombing action also came about
in other countries like Palestine or India,
but they had obvious aims.
In Indonesia, the Vice President said, the
bombing executor only attacked a name or
symbol as that of America or Australia,
however the victims were Muslims. In
Indonesia, its the craziest, bomb
explosion in Jakarta for instance, most
of the victims are Muslims, no Australians.
This one is more brutal, Vice President
said.Previously, KH Maruf Amin in
his speach, reminded Muslims would not be
provoked by statements of irresponsible
people that had certain objectives. (BTN/son)
