German Guests Not Worried About Bombs

BADUNG – German tourists are not worried about coming to Bali following the second bomb tragedy. According to Nyoman Kawi, a tour guide after taking his guest (German) to Purusadan temple, Kapal, Badung (3/10). Nyoman Kawi from Tohpati, tourism attraction said many Germans still feel safe visiting Bali. Tourists from Germany have been advised about the security in Bali by don’t seem to care. “Give attention to security at public places especially at objects that are mainly visited by tourist,” he said. Telkom Prepared Free Telephone Service


DENPASAR – As a part of TELKOM’s efforts to help victims of the latest bomb blast in Kuta Square and Jimbaran, PT Telkom Kandatel Bali have prepared a free telephone service from hospitals and locations of the bomb tragedy. Free telephone services will be provided to all local, SLJJ, or international connections that use 007 access. The free telephone service was available for 4 days,’ said Benny Artono Kakandatel Bali. HANOI – In conjunction with the 50th year of diplomatic connections between of Indonesia –Vietnam, KBRI (Indonesia Embassy) Hanoi in coordination with the Vietnam government the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNTA), Ministry of culture and information also Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will hold several activities at a tourism seminar and tourism product exhibition at the Hanoi Horison Hotel between the 25-27 November 2005. The seminar will also stage an Indonesian culture performance, especially Bali, together with an art team from Vietnam at the Hanoi Opera House on 28 November 2005. (BTN/*)

THK Tourism Awards

DENPASAR - Anak Agung Gde Raka Dalem who is the deputy chairman of the THK Awards and Accreditations led a meeting in preparation for THK Tourism Awards assessment on September 30 at the Bapedalda Bali office, Denpasar. Most THK team members who were going to involve in assessing hotels participated in the meeting. In this meeting activity, the time frame, strategy, and job descriptions were discussed. In general, all THK team members who comprised of 8 teams are ready to carry out assessment on 88 tourist accommodations which voluntarily participated in the program, prior the awards to be conferred in December, 2005.
