Japanese Consul N. Nomura:
Raise the Spirit ’’Mabanjar’’

Japanese Consul in Bali N. Nomura sympathizes on the bombings at Kuta and Jimbaran, Saturday (1/10). It is not caused by the fact that one Japanese becomes a victim on that tragedy, but he thought for the suffering of Balinese people, “Actually I love Bali very much. I have spend my life tens years in Java, but I’m feeling at home in Bali” he said.
What he was talking didn’t the courtesy. It can be seen from his serious mimic and you can listen his analysis about bombing tragedies, which happened twice in the island of god. According to him the solution is not only to recovery the security effort specifically it should be reduced become the officer job.
He even assessed the second bombing happened in Bali was caused by stretching the social cohesion of Balinese society (not only Balinese people) especially in urban areas. The spirit of union was not become the effective way in Bali yet especially for the people non-Balinese. “See at Kuta, there you can find people busy with their business, busy to find money. As if there is no atmosphere again to know each other, and also share the information. They tend to be the individual people,” he said.
Its resulted, the social control between the societies become decreasing. In fact on the spirit of union (mebanjar), Balinese people are caring each other. Certainly Nomura doesn’t know how the method to manage the local immigrants in order to raise their spirit “mebanjar”
According to Nomura, if every person who came to Bali could surveillance his or her activities and feel responsible with the Bali security, it very easy to prevent the terrorism. At least the terrorism scope could be limited and they will feel their bad intention usually surveillance by the society “according to my experience, Balinese people need to make an organization and return to their selves identities,” said the alumnus Indonesia University.

Absolute security
As a tourist destination, Bali’s security is the important thing. Not only the informal security, Nomura also focused to the officer personals. He said the mount of officer personal in Bali about 12.000 personals is very ideal, with the number of community about 3,5 million and it can be said that one officer could handle 300 people, and this is a good comparison.
Facilities like motorbike and car for patrol has been sufficient, however it’s operational cost inappropriate. So some businessmen try to help to solve this problem. But some people misused this operational cost, it’s caused some businessmen reluctant to do donation. “I didn’t mention the entire officer, but if one of them made failure it will be bring loss to the other,” Nomura said.
