KARANGASEM - Barnara & Rudiger Haasenstrauch come from Germany near Frankfurt. Their first visit to Bali was in 1991. After retiring, they have come to Bali twice a year. “I have come to Bali 22 times during the past 15 years and stay only at Candidasa, because here is a very nice, quite and relaxing place with very friendly people,” Barnara said. “Candi Beach Cottage is our favorite hotel because of the very friendly staff that make us feel like this is our second home.” (BTN/*)

AirAsia & AWAIR Support the Recovery of Tourism in Bali

DENPASAR - AirAsia and AWAIR International has made a campaign to support the recovery of tourism in Bali. The campaign titled “To Bali With Love”; which provides 12,000 free seats to flight to Bali. Senjaya Widjaya, The President Director AWAIR on press conference, Tuesday (25/10) at Mercure Hotel, Sanur, explained.
Dato’ Tony Fernades, Group CEO AirAsia added Malaysian, Indonesian, directions and artists come to Bali together to boost tourism in Bali and also the unique ASEAN support. “It is for the first time we show the cooperation likes in ASEAN,” he said.
Dato’ Kalimullah Hassan, Group Editor-In-Chief, New Straits Times Press Group, represented Malaysia media said tourism is the important thing for the Bali’s economic future. For the Balinese to live with love peace very depends on income, which is, received from tourism sector. “So we have to stamp out terrorism acts that can destroy the beauty and peace of Bali,” he said. Environmentally Friendly
Development Seminar

GIANYAR - Gianyar House of Representative members who joined the “Kaukus Lingkungan DPRD Gianyar” on Tuesday (1/11) ran a Seminar on the ‘Strategy for Environmentally Friendly Development’ (Strategi Pembangunan Berwawasan Lingkungan) at the Lorin Hotel, Saba Beach. Customary Village Leaders, Government Officers, House of Representatives, NGO, Tourism stakeholders, were among participants at the seminar. A.A.Gde Raka Dalem, an ecotourism lecturer from Udayana University-Bali, who was invited as a speaker at this seminar presented a paper entitled Tri Hita Karana (THK) in Tourism Industries. He said that it is important for us to consider the philosophy of THK in the development of tourism in Bali, because it is a key value of sustainability in the Balinese way of life. Other speakers, such as Mr Barlin (from State Ministry of Environment), Cok Raka Kertyasa, I Wayan Suarna, I Wayan Supartha, and Cok Putra Nindia also supported the vision to develop Gianyar in a sustainable way for the future generations. Fifth Winner in Level National

BADUNG – Seaweed Farmers “Sari Segara”, Kutuh village, South Kuta have been successful of becoming fifth winners at national level for Beneficial Effort Intensification (INBUD) seaweed competition. The competition was held by the Fishery and Beneficial Effort Department, on Wednesday (12/10) and joined by 9 finalists from all over Indonesia. (BTN/015)
