explained.

Friendly
Development Seminar
GIANYAR
- Gianyar House of Representative
members who joined the Kaukus
Lingkungan DPRD Gianyar on
Tuesday (1/11) ran a Seminar on
the Strategy for Environmentally
Friendly Development (Strategi
Pembangunan Berwawasan Lingkungan)
at the Lorin Hotel, Saba Beach.
Customary Village Leaders, Government
Officers, House of Representatives,
NGO, Tourism stakeholders, were
among participants at the seminar.
A.A.Gde Raka Dalem, an ecotourism
lecturer from Udayana University-Bali,
who was invited as a speaker at
this seminar presented a paper entitled
Tri Hita Karana (THK) in Tourism
Industries. He said that it is important
for us to consider the philosophy
of THK in the development of tourism
in Bali, because it is a key value
of sustainability in the Balinese
way of life. Other speakers, such
as Mr Barlin (from State Ministry
of Environment), Cok Raka Kertyasa,
I Wayan Suarna, I Wayan Supartha,
and Cok Putra Nindia also supported
the vision to develop Gianyar in
a sustainable way for the future

Winner in Level National
BADUNG Seaweed Farmers Sari
Segara, Kutuh village, South
Kuta have been successful of becoming
fifth winners at national level
for Beneficial Effort Intensification
(INBUD) seaweed competition. The
competition was held by the Fishery
and Beneficial Effort Department,
on Wednesday (12/10) and joined
by 9 finalists from all over Indonesia.
