“Let’s Go to Bali”
Touring & Rally for Bali’s Recovery

A tourism rally covering a distance of 112.35 km within 280 minutes in the event ‘Let’s Go to Bali’ Touring & Rally was officially launched by the Chairman of Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant Association (IHRA) Bali Chapter, Ir. Tjok Sukawati and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Bagus Darmayasa at Sektor Bar and Club Bali Beach Golf, Sanur on Sunday (20/11). “I’m proud because participants of this event reaches 110 vehicles (some 300 people). The number has met the target,” according to Dr. Bagus Darmayasa to Bali Travel News.

The rally passed through some tourist objects, including Kuta precisely in front of Raja’s Bar & Restaurant and Bali Bomb Monument of 12 October 2002. Both locations are known as an area of victims of terrorist’ bombs.
Participants of the rally also went by Nusa Dua and Jimbaran like Muaya Beach area that came to be the location of 1 October 2005 tragedy with the bomb explosion at Café Nyoman and Café Menega. Then, participants proceeded to Ubud by passing through the Monkey Forest and so forth. “Participants are very enthusiastic to join this happening,” Bagus added.
Bagus, who is also the Head of the Indonesian Automobile Association (IAA), Bali Chapter, explained that the Touring and Rally was divided into four categories, namely Beginner, Public, Member and Family. The first champion was the duet of Made Tony Hermawan/Dewa Gde Yudistira for Beginner category with the smallest penalty score amounting to 91. Bagoez occupied second place by obtaining a penalty score of 148 and then followed by Andre Terry Putra (174), Lolita Dewi (274) and Ari Yudhiyanto (414).
For the public category, first rank was occupied by Antonius SP, while Made Tony Hermawan, the second ranking followed by Bagoez, Gede Made Dwi A Santika and Andre Terry Putra.
Family category was won by Aulia Anwar (275) followed by Putu Perdana Yasa (374) and Sudanta (1,241). Member groups of Astraworld was triumphed in by Lolita Dewi (274), Putu Perdana Yasa (374), Aris Yudhiyanto (414), Ketut Bagiasa (473) and Agung Wibowo (1,150).
Total prize competed in the tourism rally that was watched by hundreds of foreign visitors amounted to IDR 10,000,000.
It was also added, the objective of the event was to channel automotive hobbies and at the same time to know the tourist object together with their family. In addition, it was meant to help the recovery of Bali tourism after the bomb explosion and enhance the discipline matters pertaining to traffic. “We expect this event can become a regular calendar, either for members of Astraworld or non-members,” explained Bagus. Tennis Courts

Nikko Bali Resort & Spa and Bali Tennis Academy (BTA) jointly tendered a cocktail party on November 12, 2005 at the hotel’s newly refurbished tennis facility. The party coincides with the opening of the BTA’s 2005 year-end championship Tennis tournament.
Attendees to the cocktail were about 150 tennis players, their families and supporters. The occasion was highlighted by food and drinks, sexy ladies, fire dances and drawings of raffle prizes, including a promotional dinner vouchers from Nikko Bali Resort & Spa’s various outlets. The opening games were played shortly thereafter.
With the refurbished, roofed and well light three-court facility, tennis can now be played from morning till evenings, rain or shine. Managed by Julio Alcaraz and ably supported by Jordan Sanchez, both well experienced tennis professionals, the Bali Tennis Academy organizes tennis programs - trainings and tournaments - for all ages.
