Karangasem Regency has many splendid locations for water sports, locations are mostly taken advantage of for diving, snorkelling or river rafting. The span of the beach in Karangasem reaches 97 km of which the ambience is relatively tranquil, clean and unspoilt. White sandy beach can be found at Padangbai and Bugbug Village.

Nearly along the beach in Karangasem you can find traditional fishermen who are setting sail or parking their jukung outrigger or motorized jukung. They paint their jukung uniquely in dissimilar styles and sometimes decorated with stylish paintings. Fishermen of Karangasem frequently have double professions; apart from being fishermen who catch fish, they also offer services to tourists that like sailing.
Padangbai Beach has been known for so long as an awesome diving site, while other locations in Karangasem that are no less spectacular, are Labuhan, Sengkidu and Tulamben Beach. These beaches have a myriad of decorative fish, and even some of them are categorized into rare species. Meanwhile, tempting coral reefs can be found at Manggis, Jemeluk and Tulamben. Locations of these beaches is well known, and visited by many foreign tourists.
In the meantime, water sports or river adventures (white water rafting), in Karangasem is carried out along the Unda River at Muncan, Selat and Yeh Sah Rivers. The river’s furrow occurs between ravines and often passes through verdant canyons and the spread of terraced rice fields. The water is clear and natural originating from the slopes of Mount Agung.
In Karangasem, there is also a swimming pool, named Tirtangangga Park. This pool is a tourist object of the water palace that is situated at Ababi Village. It offers tremendously exquisite view, as it’s located between rice fields and the foothills of Tirtagangga. Its cool and pollution-free water is best favoured by tourists. Everyday, there are locals, or foreign tourists, taking a bath and swimming at Tirtagangga. Accommodation and restaurants are available there, too.
