than filling in the position of Restaurant
Manager at Melia Bali Villas & Spa Resort,
this Gianyar born man is entrusted the General
Secretary of Federation of Tourism Labour
Union (FSP Par) of Badung Regency. In the
midst of sluggish condition of the Bali
tourism due to minimum tourist visit, Putu
Satyawira issue an appeals for hotel employees
in Badung Regency to put forward patience
and serenity in resolving every single problems
pertaining to employee's destiny.
Currently, his party is approaching the
government in order that hotel and restaurant
tax (HRT) can be taken advantage for the
sake of overseas promotion, chiefly countries
that have given great contribution to Bali
like Australia, Japan and Europe. "This
idea is highly welcomed by government of
Badung Regency, however, it needs a further
discussion with the member of House of Representatives
as it's associated with budget affairs,"
observes Putu while ensuring that such stride
and concurrently assisting the hoteliers
as wellas save the employees from the risk
of severance of labour relation.
To the hotel owner and management, his party
hopes them to be knowledgeable and patient
in making any decision in association with
the destiny of the employees. Decision on
severance of labour relation will inflict
on a vastly wide social impact. "We
need serenity, security and convenience
in the midst of low hotel occupancy,"
he states firmly.

Puspasari has the new post of Sales Manager.
She joined Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel
on 9th January 2006. Graduating from NHI
Bandung with Diploma in Tours & Travel
Management in 1994, she started her career
as a Sales Executive in Smiling Tours Jakarta.
She then moved to Batam Island as Assistant
Manager in the Pinang Jaya Travel and spent
more than 2 years of her career in Jakarta
then decided to develop a new career in
the hotel industry in Bali where she started
as Sales Manager in Saphir Bali Hotel in
2001. She then moved to Kuta Paradiso as
MICE Manager in 2004 before joining Melia
Benoa as Sales Manager in 2004.

Badra
Dancer Trained by The Maestro of Dance

Wayan Badra, is reaching 80 years old. But
he still has the spirit and happy to enjoying
his life as a dance artist. The men born
in Luk-luk village, district of Mengwi (Badung)
said that he's not have any special recipe
in passing his life.
Recently for Bali Travel News, he explained
that dancer and tabuh artist is never having
any problems in facing their life. "So,
though I has no money, I never think about
it too much. The important one is eat regularly
though in simple menu and don't forget to
move your body," he said.
The physical exercise, according to Wayan
Badra is working. "People work in the
field are also engaging and physical exercise,"
said grandfather from number of grandchildren
of his 6 sons. He is a hard worker dancer
and a nimble dancer when he was young. As
a dancer, he is very famous in his village
where he born at, even until the corners
over Bali.
Few years ago, Wayan Badra ever had an art
award 'Kerti Budaya' from the government
of Badung Regency. When he was ateenager,
he learned to dance diligently. He learned
the famous 'Kebyar Duduk' dance straight
from its creator and the maestro of dance
I Ketut Mario. I Ketut Mario the Maestro
(late) was from Tabanan, beside made the
'Kebyar Duduk' dance also made the 'Oleg
Tambulilingan' dance which is become the
favorite of Balinese dancers.
At the Bale Banjar Delod Pempatan, Lukluk,
Badra still have set of gamelan gong. The
Gamelan Gong was bought since he was a teenager
and until this time still used to accompany
the new generation of the local village
in practicing and dancing.
