Jean-Baptiste Andre
Allured the Spectators at
BAF
A multimedia theatre
performance, entitled “Intérieur
nuit”, was successfully staged at
Bali Arts Festival (BAF), Tuesday (20/6).
This presentation was a participation of
the French Government in the 28th execution
of BAF this year.
This
theatre was both played and directed by
Jean-Baptiste Andre. Supported by electrical
music accompaniment and effective technological
sophistication, he allured the spectators.
Even, they were enormously enchanted by
the artistry of his bodily movement centralized
on the expression of metamorphosis where
the stage was designed in such a way that
it resembled a chamber containing full of
meaning or it can be interpreted as a jail’s
room.
Jean-Baptiste Andre is a young French star,
graduated from the National Centre for Circus
Art (CNAC). In his composition he combined
the art of circus, dance and theatre into
a presentation exceeding the frontiers of
art domain and coloured by touching and
poetical atmosphere that also reflected
a contemplation on the significance of human
and humanity essence.
According to Director of Alliance Francaise
Denpasar, Megali Morel, the multimedia presentation
offered a new entity on how the art domain
is creatively responded. "Jean-Baptiste
Andrea was capable of characterizing the
sequence of story so it was easy to be interpreted
freely by the spectators," Morel said.
Other than producing the "Intérieur
nuit", Jean-Baptiste Andre is a dancer
for Philippe Decoufle, Gilles Baron and
Syvain Prunerec. (BTN/015)
