BIGexpo 2006
Business
Opportunity for Bali’s Exporters
Bali Collection, Nusa
Dua, 9-20 August becomes the venue of a
big event, namely ‘BIGexpo’
(Bali International Guiding export product)
2006. This event gives a new injection in
the program of Bali tourism recovery, particularly
for Bali’s exporters. Such an event
is exceptionally provided for producers
or craftsmen of high quality products offering
competitive prices. In addition, companies
involved in this event are those supporting
the export business such as cargo &
courier service, airlines, banks, mass media
or publishing and so on.
BIGexpo
2006 is initiated by PT DBS Communication,
PT Mitra Intertrans Forwarder (MIF), Bali
Collection and PT Daya Sapta Toenggal (DST)
along with 100 participants from several
areas of business in Bali or outside Bali
such as Jakarta, Semarang, Jepara, Surabaya,
Ujung Pandang and others. Sectors of export
products participating in the event are
companies running a business in furniture,
home decoration, jewellery, textile &
garment, wood & stone carving, painting,
glass, ceramic, brass, accessories &
gift items and many more.
Organizing Committee representative, Chairul
Islam says that the expo is one of the efforts
to abridge the time for buyer and seller
and meet in person so the price will be
competitive and at the same time promoting
the company itself. "Therefore, this
BIGexpo 2006 comes in a venue where buyers
can look for a variety of products at one
place," he says during a press conference
in Sanur, Saturday (15/7).
In the meantime, Advisor Dian Hadiani said
that BIGexpo 2006 targets three groups of
visitors namely invitees (entrepreneurs
association, government, potential buyers
from France, Italy, Japan, Australia, New
Zealand and others), foreign tourists staying
at hotels in Nusa Dua and its surroundings
and public visitors of Bali Collection Shopping
& Entertainment Complex. "As an
illustration, lately visitors to Bali Collection
increased enormously, approximately reaching
700-1000 people per day. If there is a big
event like this, its number will increase
again," says Dian who is also the Marketing
& Event Manager of Bali Collection.
Event Manager, Yudha Wiraharta, adds that
BIGexpo 2006 is different from other similar
expos ever organized in Bali. "We’d
like to create something monumental in Bali
based on trading expo, business development
and entertainment concept," he utters
while adding that other than expo his party
also organizes some seminars on business
development and entertainment every day.
