2006 Held in Bali
Now
Bali has become the choice as the venue
to organize national or international
events. Forum of the Indonesian Radio
Networks (FRJI) supported by PT Pacific
World Nusantara, in cooperation with
the Department of Communication and
Informatics, Department of Industrial
Affairs, Department of Tourism and the
Indonesian Commission of Broadcasting
will hold an International Broadcast
& Multimedia Expo (IBEX) 2006, in
the mid of coming November. The first
event of its kind in Indonesia comes
about at the Bali Convention Centre
(BCC), Westin Hotel, Nusa Dua. This
was revealed on the press conference
at PT Pacific World Nusantara, Friday
(8/9).
IBEX 2006 is an event of industrial
exhibition for broadcast and multimedia,
conference and other tourism activities.
On that account, participants being
invited to attend the event are such
as the businesspeople of broadcasting
and multimedia industry, owner of radio
and television station, government officials,
student of higher education/university
having the department of broadcasting,
multimedia and advertising.
According to Secretary General of IBEX
2006, Ujang Nugraha, the selection of
Bali as the venue of IBEX 2006 was made
by considering that this island has
been famous as world’s tourist
destination that is alluring and has
the potential to organize such an activity.
There are several countries that have
confirmed their participation such as
Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China,
Japan, Russia, America and Australia.
"All activities are centralized
at BCC as it has complete and international
standard facilities for an execution
of exhibition and conference,"
he uttered.
Yongky Manuru, Chairman of the Organizing
Committee, added that the IBEX 2006
exhibition will take place during the
period of 15-18 November. Meanwhile,
the IBEX conference held 15-16 November
and the Asia Pacific Media Forum (APMP)
will organize a conference for Advertising
Agency throughout Asia-Pacific on 17-18
November. "This happening will
become a regular activity organized
in Bali annually in November,"
he said.
Ida Bagus Lolec, Managing Director of
PT Pacific World Nusantara, said that
his party is highly supporting this
international event. "Though this
activity is small, it will assuredly
have an impact on the recovery of Bali
