Al Purwa: Stop Given Credits

The Association of the Indonesia Travel Agents (Asita) Bali is hopeful that the providing credits to foreign agents will be stopped. It is because by giving credits to foreign agents, it will cause financial losses to Tourism in Bali. "The giving payment credit to the foreign agent should be stopped soon. The payment should be done in cash," utters the head of Asita Bali, Al Purwa on the meeting of the Asita Bali, Tuesday (29/8).
It was said that, foreign agent intentionally take advantage of the current tourism situation in Bali. They purposely postponed the traveling package payment to their business partner in Bali. "Actually if the local agent sends tourists abroad they must pay in cash," he said.
He added that he is aware that his side doesn’t have the authority to give sanctions to the foreign agents who not commit to the rule restriction. He just can give suggestions to the local agent that they should be aware that is not good for us. "We should cooperate to make sure that the foreign agent is not playing with us. I believe it can be realized if we all together have a strong commitment and willingness," he explained.
He was stressing that the decreasing of tourist visits to Bali does not mean that we have to grant all of their wishes. So his side will continue to coordinate with their members. He also made a commitment to increase the coordination with the organizer, so they can exchange e-mail addresses and hand-phone numbers from each other.(BTN/015)
