"Buleleng Fly In" II 2006

Friday (1/9), a momentous event for aerosport aficionados was organized in Buleleng – North Bali at the Lieutenant Colonel Wisnu Airport. The airport is situated at Sumberkima Village – Grokgak, 56 km west of Singaraja city. The same venue organized a similar event in 2001.
The "Buleleng Fly-In" II was inaugurated by the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force, Marshal Herman Prayitno who is also the National Chairman of the Federation of Indonesian Aerosport (FASI). The competition of small aircrafts took place for four days (1-4 September). Its participants came from Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Germany and Indonesia.
"Buleleng Fly-In" II was graced by a competition of "ogoh-ogoh" or papier-mâché puppets in the form of aircrafts. This competition was participated by all villages across the sub district of Grokgak was won by Kusambi Hamlet, Sumberkima village (1st), and its runners up consisting of the Loka Segara hamlet, Pemuteran Village (2nd), Palasari hamlet, Pemuteran village (3rd), Sumberpao hamlet, Sumberkima Village (4th), Pegametan hamlet, Pemuteran village (5th). Additionally, there was also a painting competition for elementary schools.
