5 K Denpasar Beach Fun Run 2006

DENPASAR – About 5000 participants from local and national athletes, students, local people and tourists, participated on 5 K Denpasar Beach Fun Run 2006, Saturday (9/9). The event in conjunction with the Bali Tourism Festival 2006, was supported by Bali Tourism Board and made in cooperation with the KONI Denpasar. The race was 5 kilometer in length along Mertasari beach to the beach in front of Inna Grand Bali Beach Sanur. (BTN/015)

Repeater Guests

TANJUNG BENOA - During his business trip to Europe recently, Dr. Jro Gede Karang Suarshana MBA, Managing Director of Bali Tropic Resort & Spa, took the opportunity to visit his old friend and also the most repeater guests of Bali Tropic Resort & Spa, DR. Hans Gruss and Mrs. Heide Gruss, the Owner of Gruss Tour in Suessen, Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Gruss have visited Bali 30 times and stayed 21-times at the Bali Tropic Resort & Spa. The Best Artist

NUSA DUA - The dynamic Food & Beverage Team of Nikko Bali Resort & Spa recently achieved an outstanding performance in the prestigious "IJUMPI Culinary Challenge 2006". This event is held in conjunction with Sanur Village Festival, 25 – 27 September. IJUMPI is a prestigious association of Indonesian Professional Chefs. The hotel’s kitchen team won seven (7) medals from ten (10) categories in which they competed. They won one (1) gold medal for fruit and vegetable carving, two (2) silver medals for ice and stereo foam carving, three (3) bronze medals from other categories like ice carving, butter sculpture and kreasi jajan pasar, and finally, the award for the "Best Artist of the Year 2006". The management of Nikko Bali Resort & Spa congratulates and extends thanks to all those who have put their efforts, talents and support in this event. (BTN/*)

Meal at Buleleng Harbour – North Bali

SINGAJARA – Taking a meal at the food shops / restaurants of the North Bali -Buleleng harbour is a unique experience. This happens because tourists will not only enjoy their meal on a stilt and lookout into the sea type of building, but are also able to enjoy nice view of sunset, especially when they have dinner here. Where is Buleleng Harbour? It is very easy to find. When tourists travel to the North of Bali, to the city of Singaraja (the capital city of Buleleng regency), the harbour is very close to the junction of Surapati St. and Erlangga St., the streets that are on the northern part of the city of Singaraja. It can be accessed by car for about 2 hours from the capital city of Denpasar. When you travel to the north of Bali, why don’t you come and visit the Buleleng Harbour? (BTN/028)

BEC Seminar

NUSA DUA - Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) Executive Club or State Owned Company Executive Club (BEC) held a seminar at Meliá Bali Villas & Spa Resort on Friday (1/9). In conjunction with the 61st Indonesian Independence Day, BEC organized a seminar on How to Fight Corruption as the main topic. More than 200 members of BEC were attending the seminar. Keynote speaker is the ministry of BUMN, Mr. Sugiharto, whom discussing BUMN contribution to the Indonesian economics and principals in Good Corporate Governance in relation to fight corruption in Indonesia. Bali Organized The 27th Salon-foto

To encourage the passion of Bali tourism, the Federation of Indonesian Photo arts Association (FPSI) and Photographer’s Association of Bali (FPB) organized the 27th Salon foto 2006. This Photographic event, which was given the title of ‘Unity & Creativity for Recovery Bali", took place from 6-7 September 2006 at Hotel Oranjje Denpasar.
It involved 399 participants consisting of 4 foreign photographers namely from Australia, America, and Singapore, 2 expatriates domiciling in Bali, 51 photographers from outside Bali and the remaining from Bali and competed in the categories as the colour, monochrome and digital photo print.
Presentation of the prizes to the winners was held at Bajra Sandhi Monument in Renon, Sunday (10/9) being resumed with a photo exhibition. The winners were awarded prizes in the form of medal and trophy, while the participant who obtained the highest accumulative score was entitled to win the H. Adam Malik Trophy.
According to Chairman of the Committee, Ketut Widiatmika, Salon-photo Indonesia was an annual event held by FPSI to try out the creativity of photo-art for photographers and photo enthusiasts. Salon photo was first held in Jakarta (1978) and Bali has hosted the event now for two times. (BTN/015)

 

Cooking Competition

KUTA - Ikatan Juru Masak Professional Indonesia (IJUMPI) organized a cooking competition on Saturday (26/8) at Sanur Village Festival. Mr. I Putu Ermawan, demi chef de partie and Mr. I Made Suastana, chef de partie of Bali Rani Hotel participated to the competition and they succeeded having the award as the third winner. Mr. Hadi Taryoto - Managing Director of Bali Rani Hotel is very proud of their performance since they are the role models of creative staffs. The creation of food presented at the competition was pan seared fish tower with Indonesian egg tofu and wine reduction, which is displayed at picture 1, and stuffing roast chicken breast at picture 2. Now those menus have become part of the special menu of the hotel’s outlet at Haston Café. Congratulation! (BTN/*)

Contribution to "Bali TV"

DENPASAR - Meliá Bali Villas & Spa Resort handed its donation to Bali Television for Bali Harmony on Thursday (31/8). Bali Harmony is a program created to provide aid for the unfortunates. This year, Bali Harmony committed to provide free medical assistance for a poor village in Kintamani, Bali. Meliá Bali supports Bali Harmony program by providing medicines, milk and healthy snacks. In addition, towels and bed covers are also provided. The General Manager of Meliá Bali, Mr. Alfonso Romero, presents the donations to the Bali Television team, which was the creator of Bali Harmony. All donations were distributed on Saturday (2/9) in Kintamani.
